You’re like a cooler version of Tom Jones

I really, really wish I could say it was the late, great Alex Harvey, who I saw live for the first time when I was fifteen. Sadly, the true answer would be Status Quo, who I saw a few weeks earlier. Barry would be happy with that, of course.

Barclay James Harvest.
But at least @ericofarabia would be locked down with me.
MEDIC!

Still trying to work that one out Fats. :lou_lol:

Elton John.

It’s going to be a tough lockdown :confounded::confounded::confounded::confounded:

Did you ask him about meeting the famous Paul Taylor at Glastonbury 2016? @Intiniki can fill you in.

Yeah, he mentioned it.

He said they after meeting you he was inspired to write The Short Answer.

Nice try @saintbletch but that song came out in 1988, mate.

I have to say that @Intiniki’s boyfs piss-takes was one of the funniest I’ve ever experienced.

Gentle and devastating

But as he said, I’m sure Billy Bragg was very pleased to meet the famous Paul Taylor

There’s a reason I keep him about.

In 3 hours of car crash TV I luckily only recognised about 10% of the celebs crashing their careers
But the (horrific apart from the Public) resurrection of Peter Kaye & Amarillo did remind me of one great fun gig moment - doing that dance in the mosh pit @pyramid stage to Tony Christie.
Didn’t change my life was just wonderfully silly & British

dusting off this old thread.

I see I didn’t mention the bands I last saw in Feb - Lianne la Havas at the Barbican (stunning set) and City and Colour at the Palladium.

After a 9 month break I headed to a local brewery for a distanced gig. The pure joy I felt when Jess Guise started singing was quite something. Had a good hour of Sean McGowan afterwards. Sadly didn’t play the song I requested via Instagram.

It was a gentle way to get back into going to a gig as I don’t know if I could cope with a large number of people milling about (I struggled a bit anyway). Not the same sort of atmosphere but part way there.

More emails this week with re-scheduled dates which means we hopefully will see Michael Kiwanuka twice in a week in May 2022. The original dates were 6 months apart. Just waiting for the 3 Killers gigs and a Faith No More one in May-June to all be rearranged and my diary is free until September when John Grant may be a possibility if all goes well.
In a moment of madness have booked Skunk Anansie for next year as well.

Well I was going to see The Beths at the end of this month…now November. Tickets still apply, let’s hope I last that long.

Bought tickets ages ago for This is the Kit at the Albert Hall on the 1st April. It’s now on the 8th March next year instead. But at least it’s going ahead and I still have the tickets.

Kiwanuka is so good. He was on my radar earlier than my partner. He is still a little annoyed I saw him at Glastonbury on the West Holts.

As usual, I saw your & @Goatboy posts and went who, meh, sigh?
Perils of ex pat life.
Meanwhile this annoying ad for TVP own produced shows kept playing this annoying remix of some obscure Lighthouse familky & 1960’s la la song.
It bugged the hell out of me.
Eventually, yesterday, I managed to fire up Soundhound in time and
OMG! That’s who you guys were on about!

It was bands like that, I’d never heard, of that I loved discovering at Glasto.
Sigh

Killers at St Marys moved to May 2022.

We saw Kiwanuka on the Park Stage in 2019. Really nice chilled atmosphere as the sun started to fade. I did head of a little early to see someone else. Not that I can remember.

Yeah I now have 2 Kiwanuka gigs one week followed by 3 Killers gigs the following week. We may take the 2 weeks off and go down South and have a bit of a holiday. Fingers crossed for 2022 and all those postponed gigs.
