Iāve seen it. In many respects, your typical Game of Thrones season opener. A lot of scenes dealing with the aftermath of last season, some more exciting and rewarding than others. The catch up with Brienne was perhaps the best part of the show until the climax. The bits with the bastard Bolton werenāt as engaging, but help set the stakes for their little part of the world.
A lot of this is brand new territory for book readers. The Anya story isnāt as far along as it is in the books, and neither is the Bran part. The unquestionably new parts were Daenerysā new direction, which Iām not really feeling, and the fate of Jon Snow, which I definitely am.
The situation at Castle Black with the Nightās Watch was already very interesting, what with the Snow loyalists and Davos holed up and under threat of being murdered by Jonās killers. The final scene was something else, though. Confounded normal GoT expectations (normally people are just getting naked because itās an HBO show 
) and gave some real clues as to the Red Womanās real power.

I got my first download of S06E01 at about 03:10 Monday morning, trouble is it was from a Russian source, it had an English soundtrack fair enough but they sub-titles were in Russian, hence the Dothrac parts were difficult to understand. Had to redownload an english copy, luckily I was off work ill yesterday.

Iāve never watched Game of Thrones, though Iāve seen its sets in Dubrovnik. However, I believe an old friend of mine had a small part in it last night - the Boltonsā maester or something like that? (I genuinely have no clue). Just thought Iād mention it, for no particular reason.

I believe that they did, but it wasnāt as cold as it appeared. That scene was filmed in Northern Ireland, I believe. They added the snow in post production.

But it turns out Game of Thrones has a very different effect on other viewers. It seems that it satisfies their need for sexy-visuals and as a result the porn industry takes a hit when an episode is airing.
When the premiere of Game of Thrones aired on Sunday evening in the US, online porn consumption dipped four per cent.
If you think that stat is a bit insignificant, think again. Porn Hub, one of the 60 most visited porn sites in the US has released a statistic showing that 4 per cent in terms of numbers is actually millions and millions of visitors a day.
But on a brighter note for our porn-y friends, they also found that immediately after a Got episode aired, the most searched videos on Porn Hub are Game of Thrones related videos. In fact, searches after Sundayās premiere increased by 370 per cent.
All those bewbs in an episode clearly makes everyone as toey as a Kingās Landing sandal.
Even Melisandreās weird topless shot couldnāt put a dampener on the loin-fires, it seems.
