I know it’s an open forum and freedom of speech and all that…but if posters don’t like other posters why don’t they just use a modicum of self-control and just ignore them?
Having said that…the majority of this particular thread has been gold and would never have existed without the original childish behaviour, and it was great to see some lurking posters re-appear (albeit briefly by the sound of things), so perhaps I should just keep my mouth shut

Bletch, at least, will be able to determine whether I’ve broken the habit of a lifetime, or Cherts is simply repeating what I already said.
Cherts never outright asked me to remove Barry, but the inference was pretty clear. “It’s me or him”.
I’m not sharing the correspondence here, but I’ve sent it to bletch. I don’t really give a fuck if the general forum populace think I’ve suddenly took up wholesale mendacity, when to a fault honesty has been the order of the day. No desire to make bletch a go-between; he’s had enough questions to deal with over the last couple of days.
Whether I’m a giant fucking liar or not shouldn’t be one of them.
As for Tokes’ charge, I’m not sure what giant case he’s trying to prove. The site has refined policy as it has dealt with more events. If he wants to characterise that as “making things up as I go along”, I suppose that’s true, but the alternative is coming up with a rule for every scenario ever. It’s just not realistic.

Having reflected on this a little, (not too much as that would be a serious waste of time) it does raise an interesting point. First up, sorry Cherts, but you can’t make stuff up like that about folks no matter how much of a cunt they are… so no excuse
But, forums such as this have a long and shitty history of troll survival at the expense of posters who finally lose the fucking plot. I know as I have come close on several occasions. Some folks are just simply more reactionary - I like to think its passion as opposed to my personality disorder- but ultimately we are but fodder for the troll… with the added pain of knowing they are laughing at you
its easy to suggest ignore or ‘don’t rise to it’ but it’s in some folks nature to be enraged by cunts spouting enough shit just on the edge off what is acceptable and see them get away with it or even be encouraged to confinue because it ‘makes the forum more entertaining’ or ‘drives traffic’
If driving traffic is what you want, shall I post some hard core porn? After all, it the most popular use of the internet and is much less offensive than casual racist shite designed to provoke?
Whilst there is probably some big word that describes the value of a more libertarian forum, self policed etc, - and that this somehow reflects well on the forum owner…that I only have myself to blame for my own OTT reactions etc, I do think the forum has to acknowledge that by encouraging the troll like tendencies especially when it’s included some rightly sensitive topics, it’s not totally without responsibility… push folks enough and most crack eventually- and this environment is created by tolerating if not encouraging these behaviours

If you actually looked through all of this and many others, I post many others then poked and prod Bazza for a reaction, I am fair game, I understand this due to the nature of my posts and disagreements but I have snide ever so clever innuedos all day long, I take it in good heart and laugh it off, most on here would have a meltdown with the shite I get thrown at me, , oh I am certainly not asking for and looking for pity as I don’t want it, nor would I get it and nor would I deserve it, but there are some things you simply can’t say. A lack of respeonse and indifference from some say an awful lot about them.
