Despite all the good times, he’s left a sour taste. I do feel sorry that he’s had his head turned by Mendes but ultimately his lack of loyalty showed through. Shame really, but we move on and should replace him with some quality - hopefully!

Thank fuck that bullshit is finished. It’s been an obvious problem since October. Goodbye, good riddance. Shame, but his choice and a laughable fee.
Now the important bit. The club said he wouldn’t go unless we had cover. Signing announced tomorrow or stephens promoted?
Personally, i think we had a deal arranged for the coming summer. Has this(if true, still only a figment of my imagination) been brought forward? Are we going to hope Stephens can step up until then? Or are we signing someone more senior? How about Gardos making a comeback? If we rely on this, Barry may have a point.

It has been reported that we approached Liverpool for Sakho on loan but it was turned down.Liverpool want a permanent deal but I can not see anyone paying him what he is getting. Surely Liverpool don’t want him hanging around being paid for doing nothing. I would not be surprised if last minute we get him on loan till the end of the season. From Liverpool’s part it’s putting him in the shop window and if he does well someone might want him even if we do not.

According to Twitter Hammers fans are delighted with this signing and think he is a bargain. All I can say is their keeper needs to start practicing his penalty saving.

We have been to Wembley and won, achieved promotion after promotion, great premier league seasons with records broken, European football…and the list goes on! Not for a moment I regret anything I did,because I have given my all every single day I have worn the Saints crest until the last second of my last training session! I have never rejected to play in any circumstances!! A lot has been said about me and my situation, most of it lacked any accuracy but we all know how the football business works! Matt le tiss just given away the real reason Fonte left. His comment ‘I never ask what my collegues are on before I sign my contract’ tells it all.
Not sure the wage structure but its pretty clear to me Fonte wanted to be at the top.
Im not sure how i feel about this. Im not sure I really care that much ,however I am sure I would be a lot more optimistic about the next few months if he had stayed and our bilionariers gave him a pay rise. it doesnt look at the moment we are going to replace with the same quality
