I didn’t think the Brit entry was as bad as the scores on the doors

Sweden won

Which is good

Because now it will be held in Sweden on the 50th anniversary of ABBA winning

I was called in to listen to the Mud Wrestler but thought there was something wrong with the sound balance
seemed very flat to me. Wasn’t surprised when it didn’t fare well
it wasn’t up to the quality of Boom Bang a Bang was it.

Back when Blair was busy alienating the europeans he’d previously been so desperate to court, and Jemini broke the Eurovision record by receiving zero points from everyone, a point they made after the competition was that their foldback had been sabotaged with the result that they couldn’t hear what they were singing. I listened to a rerun with a very sceptical ear, but ended up deciding they were almost certainly right. I’ve seen and heard a lot of singers recording or rehearsing, and their claim rang true.

Probably them darned Ruskies in retaliation for our support of Ukraine

Probably not.

But. I thought you like a good conspiracy theory

Indeed. But it won’t have been the Russians in this instance. I think we can safely expect Nul Points in Eurovision for the foreseeable future, since we had the temerity to exit the EU.
:male_detective:

And the say it’s not a political competition

Indeed

The most interesting thing to me is that Ukraine failed to win it. I reckon that says more about public support for the assistance waning than any headline does.
