The fans of the clubs in question are mostly mortified, and rightly so.
This’ll just lead to franchise football as a thing, and we’ll have new PSGs sprouting up every decade.
Always amazed me that any of us could start an MLS team tomorrow if we had enough wonga.

As things unfold, I am leaning more and more towards telling them all to go, and as soon as possible.
To be honest, a future where the Premier League is not dominated by a small number of wealthy clubs is probably to be welcomed.
Yes, it will take a few years to get things started up and going, but replacing this six with six others does mean all the other leagues will increase by six, and many more clubs can then live the dream of getting to the PL, and earn more money than they do now.
I, along with thousands of others, will not watch any of the games involved - I have no interest in any of the teams at all.
I do like the thought that these teams may not be allowed to use their current city names, and may have to create new names. In this case they will be unrecognisable to most of us.
It seems to me that if you are one of the “big 6”, and you currently languish between 5th and 10th in the PL with massive debt, then you would be up to listening to the overtures of the few (probably Man U and Liverpool owners) to potentially take a larger share of the money going in to football.
Clearly the 12 were not happy with the UEFA reboot.
Delaying that by a couple of weeks likely caused positions to harden.
Perhaps they imagined that by playing hardball they would get UEFA to offer more.
At every level it is exploding in their faces and imho makes a complete breakaway more likely.

Technically the 6 in UK players would be in breach of the International Caps part.

Just in case they fluke a couple of wins before the end of the season.
No relegation from PL plus top 6 Championship promoted = 20.
No relegation from Championship. 4 promoted from L1 (1 from play off) = 22.
2 relegated from L1. 4 promoted from L2 (inc playoff) = 22.
2 up 2 down from L2 to National League.

There is a potential issue here though… with them gone, the next round of Pram TV rights is going to be about a 1/3 of its current value, if that… cubs lie us who already have debt and players on contracts that mean our wage bill is in excellent of 100m a year, will be worried…
