It really did lash down for 10 minutes over this side of town. The water rushed just under our bungalow window and carried off the new lease car. We’ve found it on top of a pile of 15 wrecked cars, fortunately not too badly damaged as it was on the top.

It’ll need a couple of hours to dry out in West End.

126-5 didn’t merit a mention?

The Bookshop re-opened at 4pm.

Urban Island High and Dry 5.5%. Quite ironic as I had been bailing water out of my porch before I went there.

147-5 Anderson & Woakes got movement but no threat.
Broad & Curran now having a go

Lunch - Pakistan are 155 for 5

171-7

Anderson to Yasir Shah, OUT

Pitched up, chewed up, gobbled up! Yasir again throws the kitchen sink at a full ball in the channel, but only manages to gurgle an outside edge through to Buttler! Classic outswinger and Yasir bites, another one on the reel for Anderson

Yasir Shah c †Buttler b Anderson 5 (16b 1x4 0x6) SR: 31.25

176-8

Woakes to Mohammad Rizwan, OUT

Oh no, Shaheen! He’s been run out by a direct hit at the non-striker’s end! Rizwan can only look on aghast as he dabbed towards the cordon, then turned to see his team-mate halfway down the pitch - ā€˜No run!’ was the only call in town, but Afridi’s handbrake turn wasn’t enough, as Sibley threw down the stumps after swooping from gully

Shaheen Shah Afridi run out (Sibley) 0 (19b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Curran better score some runs, cos he ain’t doing much with the ball

Pakistan 205-8, means England will probably struggle to make any follow on…

Bowling in these situations just seems to always be shit

223-9 match delayed by bad light…

Pakistan all out 236

So we’ve had some play this morning and England have finally dispatched Pakistan.

236 ao, last wicket added 60 runs.

Burns edges the first ball he faces, luckily it drops short of the slip fielder, that would have been some start for Pakistan…

4th ball, same thing, genuine edge, pouched in the slips, good bowling.

0-1

This is some hostile bowling from Pakistan.

Sibley just got caught by a rising ball on the top of the pelvic bone, that looks like that hurt that did.

And they’re actually playing some cricket in glorious sunshine, and England have manged to avoid the follow on by not losing any more wickets.
