I suggested it’s a good excuse for her to watch the whole HP canon again. Like she needs an excuse…

OK, arguably not his greatest work as an actor, but so many, many people enjoyed his character globally in HP. That’s got to count for something in a life well lived.

I was wondering why no one had posted about actor David McCallum, a true star, but as he also played in the 70s TV series of The Invisible Man, maybe someone did?

El Tel gone to open Scribes in the Sky.

Sorry but why do they have to have a wake everytime a footballer dies?

Random Tale.

I was working in sales for a Marconi Subsidiary grouped under Electronic Devices Group.
On the Monday the boss asked me if I spoke Spanish, I said I got an O-Level. He sent me home to pack and head to LHR and collect a Ticket to Barcelona where I was to check in to a Hotel and wait for 2 other guys from other divisions to arrive later that night.

I went for Dinner, the waiter brought an English Speaking guy to join me. We talked about why I was there, food and football.
At the end of dinner he invited me to come to work with him.
I declined thinking he might be gay or something. I had no idea who he was until the Waiter went quite pale when I turned down the invite to sit on the Bench at the Nou Camp.

Nice bloke, completely no idea from the conversation that he was in to football in any way.

My two guys turned up, gave me shit for not going to football then took me clubbing and bad places. I went straight from a club to the shower to the exhibition hall.

Found out later the salesguy who was supposed to go had crashed his car on the way to the airport, I got 3 bad taste nights out in Barca & Madrid and (even that long ago) about $1000 of expenses receipts.

Killed my career, gave me motivation to look for work with travel involved and to keep my eyes open…

RIP Terry
