Well, who’d a thought it? :man_shrugging:t3:

Not sure if the woke thread would be more suitable for this. So the World Health Organisation have designated Monkey Pox a health emergency situation of international concern. Advising that those with high risk of contracting it are men who have sex with other men, especially those who have multiple sexual partners. But it’s not sexually transmitted. How does that work?
I get that the powers that be want to learn from the Aids crisis, and don’t want the gay community to suffer the victimisation and stigma they received during those times, but I’m not sure this is the right way to go about it. I may have missed it, but I’ve seen nothing from them explaining why and how it’s not sexually transmitted, which I would imagine being a hard sell, given the fact that high risks are gay men with multiple partners.

“And while anyone can catch monkeypox, the outbreak is overwhelmingly concentrated in gay and bisexual men, as well as other men who have sex with men.”

"Monkeypox can be spread when someone is in close contact with an infected person. The virus can enter the body through broken skin, the respiratory tract or through the eyes, nose or mouth.

It has not previously been described as a sexually transmitted infection, but it can be passed on by close contact."

I’m as baffled as you are.

If you’re a compulsive hand holder, wear gloves. :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed: :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:

Veeeery interesting…
Dr John investigates the emergency FDA approval of the new Pfizer BA 4/BA 5 vaccine after tests on 8 mice show good results. This stringent testing has resulted in the US ordering 170m doses to vaccinate their population of humans.

Next booster booked for end of the month

Lady Slowlane and I are looking for volunteers to take on our Covid symptoms after we both tested positive this morning. :frowning:

What is the going rate for volunteers? Asking for a friend who’s fallen on hard times.

Current rates are 25 quid a day, a sleeping bag and a Lurcher.

Throw in a bottle of surgical spirit and a packet of Old Holborn and I think @Polski_Filip might do it :smile:

Fvck that, I earn more than that in tips atm
Plus I’m sitting on trains for 9 hours each way for free beer next few days!

Is the lurcher a brindle? One careful owner, bred from good Gypsy stock? I don’t want one of those poofty middle class lurchers with poofty red collars on that you see in the back seat of a Land Rover Discovery outside the school gates in Chandlers Ford at 4- o clock in the afternoon. Not that you would be seen dead in Chandlers Ford Lord Slowlane, heaven forbid!

No collar, it comes with a piece of string. :+1::+1:

Yeah @scotty is right no collar, just string.
This Brindle Lurcher has run down 4 Roe Deer and a Poodle in the last 2 weeks. If your mate is short of money it will boost his caloric intake considerably.

Got back from work last night & had a total system crash.
Better today but tested +very
After everyone told me not to go to Germany.
Ho hum.

Got a NHS letter the other day telling me I was eligible for a Covid booster, and gave me a number of websites and phone numbers to arrange to have one.
Just for a laugh, I went to the website which would tell me where I could get a walk in.
Filled all the details, and seconds later I was given the address of somewhere in Henley on Thames!
What a waste of time and money.
(Don’t you all worry now - I’m not going to walk to Henley on Thames from Regent’s Park!).
