He can get to fuck with the whole ‘tax will need to be harmonised when this is all over’ shit. Will we get sick pay, holiday pay and job security too?

Its a loan, nothing more, for the left on this I genuinely feel shit, but for the white van man sun reading bellend, well fuck me you’ve voted for those cunts for years and I can’t have much pity, I do but not a lot.

Taxing it is a cunt’s trick too. Should also be an allowance for some expenses. PAYE workers don’t have to pay for things like liability insurance, vehicle costs etc. These costs fall on their employers. It’s kind of what I expected. Better than a punch in the throat but certainly not parity with PAYE.

What bare faced liars they are. The e mail inviting them to join the scheme went astray so they didn’t know whether the UK would be allowed to join the scheme.Obviously the EU’s fault. Never mind that on March 19th an EU spokesperson stated publicly that the UK was “eligible to participate” because it was in the Brexit transition period and is thus being treated like a member state. Never mind that on Monday a government spokesman, when asked about this said that the UK will be ploughing our own path regarding ventilator requisition. Just this morning the prime minister’s official spokesman told reporters when questioned: “We are no longer members of the EU, we are doing our own work on ventilators”. And this afternoon we have, "The EU ate my homework’. Ideology trumps the health of the nation, that is the truth of the matter. Hence the reports of existing ventilator manufacturers contacting the government weeks ago suggesting production be ramped up. An MD of one such company was on Newsnight last night and said they didn’t even get a response. The government are outsourcing emergency ventilator production to a company that have no expertise in the manufacture of ventilators because they have never made one before. And who gets the contract? Step forward James Dyson, long time Conservative Party member and donor, tax avoider and arch Brexiter. Tim Martin will be getting the contract for safety equipment next!
This government proves itself to be unfit for purpose as each day goes by, dangerously so. Government by lies, panic and incompetence. We are fucked

Doesn’t help everyone unfortunately. Had 3 perm jobs fall through over the last 2 weeks, and now no prospect of any money to help. Goody.

What’s your situation, Shirty?

Will you get the ÂŁ2500 but not till June?

I’m not sure where this leaves contractors?

Limited company guys could I guess furlough themselves but I suspect they haven’t been paying themselves much of a salary and taking dividends

Devil is in the detail and I am still waiting to see it

Nope, I’ll get nothing

We can’t furlough ourselves I don’t think.

As a director you are an employee and I suspect you paid yourself a salary albeit a small one . Got to be worth a shout - the worst they can do is tell you to Piss off. Best case is that you might get something

I think it only applies to companies that are looking to make people redundant, and you can’t make the director redundant. I’m going to ask my accountant but looking at other contractors in the same situation I don’t think you can.

80% of earnings uncapped seems reasonable.

Either that , or take additional measures so that those overheads are eliminated.

There will be people that cannot otherwise meet their financial obligations if they’re capped at 2.5K. Given the option, they will work, will congregate and will spend the virus.

Do we want to take this seriously or not?

To a certain degree, with mortgage holidays etc they have.

Think you’re right. If you’re on twitter follow Martin Lewis.

I already do, just trying to stick away from Twitter and the news in general, none of this is particularly good for mental health.
