If I were her, I would put a flexible working request in on the grounds of Health and caring - be a brave employer to turn that down
As a employer, it would depend on her role - does she manage people, are other people in the office having to pick up stuff because she isnāt there etc. I would also be interested is how she is behaving outside of the office ie if she has stayed bunkered to safeguard her son or if she is off down the pub or booking holidays etc - that would influence my level of sympathy

Last Sunday, a group of anti-vaxers stormed a vax centre smashed it up & assaulted guards staff & public.
Reaction has been swift, zero tolerance & Police now at all locations.
Bars clubs cinemas expected to be made mandatory Covid passports.
Czech Republic made covid passports mandatory everywhere.
Philippines just announced house āarrestā for any in vaxed. Police will book & send them home.
Shitās getting real
I donāt believe theyāre unionised, no.
And how many caught it going to a shop or Cinema in UK in same periodā¦
About 1% for the kids 20-29 yr, a lot less for the rest of us

Whatās the Covid link. I may be pishedā¦
What the fuck is wrong with the āyootsā not getting vaccinated? My 2 and their mates were all fighting at the front of the queue for the jab
ā⦠Now for the carrot; giving people discounts and other incentives to get a jab.
Downing Street hasnāt said exactly what the incentives will be.
But ministers are in talks with other firms - and discounts in cafes, restaurants and cinemas could follow soonā¦ā
FFS
Disable Data and wifi on smart phones without the presence of a Covid Certificate
It would solve the kids issue over night

Here is a thought - should employers give sick pay to anyone who contracts Covid if they refuse to get the vaccine
We have a chap who is adamant he is not getting vaccinated but is refusing to come in in case he catches Covid - itās a bloody nightmare for employers trying to navigate through this. Tribunals are already kicking off and because there is no precedent for this the lawyers donāt have a clue what to advise
This is a tricky one especially when numpties from CIPD are being given airtime to say that making people have the jab is tantamount to an assault on a personās body.
The person I heard on the radio didnāt qualify their own vaccine status, which left me wonderingā¦
Bloody CIPD - I stopped the HR dept going to their conferences because they would come back full of new age bullshit to implement without a thought on how it would apply to our business - just because something works well in say an IT company doesnāt mean it will work in a sales company (I should say implemented well - because you never see case studies from companies where it went tits up)
But no they could never see this and I have spent months of my life fighting rear guard actions to kill off the more ridiculous notions
Why are so many people so fucking selfish and stupid⦠sorry, but all this āfreedom to choseā is getting on tits. If that is the case, then I should be free to chose not to wash my hands after I go for a crap as a chef in the restaurant you are eating atā¦instead of having follow health and safety legislation⦠forcing me to do so by law is assault⦠FFS cunts.
