Friend of mine two days late back from UK leave - had a really cheap return Dubai - Heathrow - as they approached Dubai, the announce came out āas there are not many people getting off at Dubai, we wonāt stop, and will carry on to Karachiā.
Torture? Oh yes - no alcohol on the plane, and he lost two days pay, and had to cough up for a two day stay at Karachi.

Danish office guy. Knew better. Told him & team what to book. He knew better. Karachi then Lahore. Check in to get to Dxb. He goes to PIA Desk. This not real flight. This fake ticket. Made him pay to Karachi.
He has to go outside to find no PIA desk Emirates have checked us all in.
Eventually Danish guy finds PIA Employee waves his paperwork āwhere is your customer service desk?ā
āOh no sir, this is PIA, we are not having customer service, oh that was very funny sirā.
Cost him $1k for economy on EK one way. We were up front.

But nowhere says what you need in UK. There was a form to show valid reason to travel but cant even see that mentioned on any gov, airport or airline web site.
Will keep looking, rules will change by then anyway
Due to meet Bucks junior for lunch on Sunday. First time we would be together on Fatherās Day for five years. Just had message: he has to self-isolate for 10 days after a friend of his tested positive.

Just got the dreaded call from the girlsā school, someone in their class had tested +ve and the girls need to self-isolate for a week!!
Happened before in January and they tested +ve themselves, so they must have the anti-bodies, yet still need to self-isolateā¦
Thatās crappy.
But from Gov site:
āIf you have previously tested positive for COVID-19, you will probably have developed some short-term immunity to the disease. However, it is not certain that will happen for everyone who has had COVID-19, nor do we know how long any immunity to the disease might last.ā

I am a close contact of somebody that has tested positive and now have to self Isolate for 10 days

Results of my last test were negative even after the close contact.
