Turkey is cheaper anyway.
And on that noteā¦
Canāt see that the southern European nations most dependent on tourist income (Spain, Greece, Cyprus) will implement this if it is left to individual nations
Two years ago, if youād told me what was going to be going down now, I probably wouldnāt believe you.
My point is COVID has blinded us all a little bit. The usual rules no longer apply and while your suggestion seems sensible, the Spanish came down hard on holidaymakers during the first phase. Might be some of that still about.
There is a 3 week gap after the first jab for protection to kick in so by that token are as vulnerable as those who havenāt had the jab. Again thereās a 2 week gap after the second before you are fully protected.
Ans they are now saying that the Indian varient may not be as bad after all and it might be down to the āfounderā effect where one person infects more that expected eg in multi generational households
I think half of these āvariantsā are concocted for political expediency and could well be related to multiple occupancy.
Iāve mentioned these guys before, but international students of limited means have been particularly affected. They can afford to study in Britain, but canāt really afford the British lifestyle, hence in London you often had situations where people were three to a bedroom.
I almost feel like saying āitās indoor transmission, stupid - and the more people you have indoors, the more transmission you getā.
No shit - bloody glad this wasnāt in place when I was going through school - it would have made a mediocre outcome truly shit
Immortality beckons
Second Jab booked for next weekend
We live in a multigenerational house.
Brother in Law went for a minor medical procedure last week.
Had blood test.
It came back Monday Covid antibody positive.
They did more tests
Today the results came back.
He had Covid.
IN OCTOBER!
So all this stress to keep it out because Mum was at risk, I was at the edge of risk & we may have had it
Waiting to find out if we need blood tests but interesting they can now work backwards like that.
Anyway 2nd Jab tomorrow no reaction as Iām working straight after
In Carrotland we do it precisely ⦠2nd jab booked for 2.04pm on Thursday. Donāt be late
My French teacher hated me. She had her reasons. A couple of my mates and I were a constant source of chat in the first year of GCSE, to the point where we were specifically told to keep schtum in the beginning of our final year.
We complied. Sort of. Two of us became purposefully upright and alert, silent but maintaining eye contact and smiling at her. She cracked pretty quickly. She was from Provence and had an outrageous French accent.
I wheel keel 'im if 'e does not stop smiling at me like zis!
I got an A.
That reminds me of my Latin teacher āFingers Fosterā
Absolutely loathed each other. Predicted me a E and told me I didnāt deserve that. I got a B and took great delight in telling I still couldnāt speak a word so it was a pointless exam if I could game it so easily
After he got bored of his hands on coaching methods with the upper sixth girls basketball team, he ran off with the language assistant
Appointment at 09:50. Rocked up at 09:05. Jabbed by 09:20.
Phew buys a bit of time to pick up the van to collect clients before side effects kick in
Mineās today, 1 oāclock.
Ah backeth in mine own junior school days mine own Middleth English teacher despaired of teaching me syntax and spelling.
I told him to fucketh off and from thence onward we had perfect understanding of one another forsooth.
After my first jab, i felt washed out and knackered for a day and a half but that passed. After the 2nd jab (last Sunday) Iāve had no side effects except a short lived very minor discomfort where the needle went and a noticeably increased desire to smash Nigella Lawsons back doors in (probably due to something else, tbh).
Done, straight into the Crosfield Hall, two minutes and straight out. No queue, just a quick stab from the volunteer and fuck straight off home
