:covid_19: 😷 šŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ā“

I’ve just sold all my old NKOTB magazine from 1991-2 for quite a bit.

Sorry if already said, but haven’t got time to read the whole thread:

What is utterly stupid and indefensible is having a football international fortnight right now with thousands of players and support staff from every country, including those with the highest infection rates and variants, cross-contaminating like mad.

International football has limited importance at the best of times, but at the moment it doesn’t matter at all and it should be stopped.

I’m sorry to say it disappoints me to hear you say you made money out of another’s NEED. :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_wink:

Don’t listen to him @Intiniki - hang tough.

Yay!
I have a jab appointment.
Just gotta stay safe until 16th April. Mrs P_F got up at crack of dawn & battled through the system to get me in 30 minutes drive away.
The earliest date in the village was mid June.
Phew.

I am now able to receive 5G signals and be tracked by US Space Force cops… Thankfully, I have avoided any anal probes from ā€˜Big’ Bill G

In my old age post COVID jab moderately dyslexic vision I read this as KNOBS… which was at least quite appropriate

I follow your progress like a BBC drama. Without giving too much away, have you actually been able to go anywhere over this last year, or has all your time away from work been in quarantine? (With illicit lady visitors?)

I have not been able to leave Malaysia, this is now the second time to KL. Most off time been spent in quarantine in Labuan. Over the last year approx 40 days when not at work or under quarantine control. And that time 15 days was full lockdown with absolutely nothing open and had to get hotel room service as if in quarantine.

The Banksy painting that he donated and displayed at Southampton General (the superhero nurse doll one) just sold at auction for £14.4 million. Nice gift.

Very depressing and frankly baffling to read today that anyone coming in from France is not required to quarantine, or even be obliged to get tested. Seems crazy when France is currently getting battered by a third wave. Not surprising is the news that the new travel rules which state that anyone caught breaking the rules by going on holiday will be fined 5,000 pounds has had a loophole exemption installed which is being called the Stanley Johnson clause, which comes under ā€˜reasonable excuse for travel’, which allows people to travel outside the UK to prepare a second home for sale or rent.

Not sure that’s quite true that French visitors aren’t required to quarantine, the Gov.uk website states: ā€œPassengers arriving in France from the UK will also be required to self-isolate for seven days on arrival, before taking another PCR test. Exit from this self-isolation period is subject to a negative test result.ā€

However knowing how law abiding are the French ā€œsef-isolationā€ doesn’t give me a warm feeling of security.

VACCINE ALERT!!!

This happened yesterday and is important information for people booking vaccinations.

A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination centre after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home. When he got home, he called the vaccination centre for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalized.
He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital, but just return to the vaccination centre immediately and pick up his glasses.

This is why I have better music taste than you or Ginge.

I still listen to G’N’R, even a bit of Bon Jovi without shame.

NKOTB aren’t hangin’ tough on your playlists…

Ah that’s where you are wrong. Well, I have a later album on my phone and saw them in 2014 as I happened to be in London for an interview for a job in Islington. I didn’t get that job but did get the next one. Thought I’d swing by Hammersmith Apollo and see them. It was quite amusing. Having worked at David Essex gigs with older women still going crazy that is essentially what I witnessed.
I still don’t get the screaming girls at gigs. So annoying.

David Essex concert 1978 ish skatesmouth Guildhall
The most scared I’ve ever been at an event.
Baying females and
Nope the trauma of those memories is just too much

(My Mum wanted to see him, having previously seen Johnny Mathis there - now HE was superb)
