:covid_19: 😷 šŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ā“

I think we’d all like a ā€œnice weekend in Essexā€, however that statement seems like an oxymoron to me…

are you going for 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps (haven’t we done this thread of jokes before?)

The other thing I have noticed - is there a house in Devon or Cornwall that isn’t available for rent.

You can also rent the people that live in them if you wish.

They’re all holiday homes aren’t they? No-one actually lives in those 2 counties unless they’re a farmer or cider maker.

We have the East Wing of Slowlane Mansions available for the Easter Break. It sleeps 40 which comes to a very reasonable £100 each for the long weekend.
Catering is a little difficult as we lost a lot of staff after Brexit when most went back to Bulgaria. However Chambers has hired a few locals to fill the gap and though admirable multi-tasking and threats of violence now seem to be coping rather well.
Please PM me for booking. :lou_lol:

I lived in Devon for a couple of years in the mid 90’s. Fantastic place. Shame it’s being ruined by second homers who generally don’t give a steaming shite for the place.

We went to Salcombe a few years back - lots of London wankers mincing up and down the high street in their Quba Sail Jackets

Fucking Chelsea tractors clogging up the place, generally driven by cunts who think they own the road / narrow country lanes cos they decided to buy a house that they can visit twice a year.

Salcombe is ace. I worked for for the local council and spent a week surveying the land for a new jetty. It was about a day and a half’s work, but the weather and setting was so glorious me and the engineer just had to take our time to get it right.

Sturgeon about to announce Scotlands way out - what is the betting

Leg 1 - 7th March - primary schools
Leg 2 1 April - meet 4 people in the garden
Leg 3 - something that the English also didn’t do

etc

Tobia Ellwood, the MP for Bournemouth East, has just said on the radio that he hopes things can speed up and can’t see why they can’t…

Do they never learn?

He’s prize cunt…doesn’t think that anything but commercial considerations should have driven the exit from lockdown.

Don’t despair @BTripz there’s still time for him to catch it.

He’s probably think’s he’s too hard to catch it being an ex-Green Jacket…

No jab no pint

Also looks like the care homes are going to demand staff be vaccinated- one thing the equality act does allow for is a genuine occupational qualification where you specify a condition of employment that discriminates - i guess they have decided that the H&S of the inmates qualifies

This woman doesn’t live in the same world as the rest of us

Sadly some people believe what she says because she’s a ā€œcelebrityā€

Where was the source of the latest lockdown if it wasn’t the schools Ministers ponder

Poland opened Malls but also lower year group schools about 5weeks ago.
Last weekend they opened hotels but not restaurants or bars.
Positive cases shot up. Gov said last week it was hotels.
Uni professor went on TV with charts showing schools were the cause last Friday.
New rules announced today. Hotels still open

Last year the govt were getting hammered because their algorithm did not deliver the results. Let the teachers decide shouted the media

This year the government, obviously nervous about anything promised by a coder, have said let the teachers decide. There will be massive grade inflation shouts the media

Now I am willing to put up with the media hypocrisy if if leads to the terminal decline of Williamson political career.

Is Covid at risk of becoming a disease of the poor? - BBC News

I see that vaccinations are only running at 60% of over 80s here - give it time and Covid will improve that stat.

Can understand his point regarding mentoring but I also think he needs to move with the times

Also the bit at the bottom about Facebook paying remote working staff less as they won’t be based in Silicon Valley is happening here as more and more people choose to work for London based firms but work remotely.
