Just heard on the news that people staying in a quarantine hotel are going to be charged Ā£1,700 for their stay, wow, just wowā¦

Costs of deep cleaning, security, three meals a day, transport, and in some cases new air conditioning systems (individual room recirculation).

New Zealand is approx same cost as that, Australia charge as well but dont know how much.
I may be partaking of this quarantine at the beginning of April as My work visa runs out and they will not be renewing it as I am being nationalised and as I cannot go back to the Philippines I may be forced to return to UK.

A mate got stuck in UAE at start of pandemic. Family in Aus, he & 100k others had to choose to stay or go home.
He wrapped up his business waited 6 months for a quarantine slot & is now home.
That is a āneed to flyā in a pandemic.
But why the fvck would you fly for any other reason?
As for vaccine passport means. Guess what. Sod Boris, nobody, no taxi driver, no hotel or bar owner is going to let anyone in even when you can travel again.
An airport transfer for Ā£20 could put me or any of the guys out of work for weeks with no sick pay.
So the response is fvck right off.

A chap I know, (an Aussie) flew back to Sydney a couple of weeks agoā¦his quarantine in a hotel would cost him $aud3000 which is about the same as the UK.

My mateās family were in Melbourne he had to quarantine in Brisbane and then got hit by state border closure.
The flight cost was eye watering, so hotel cost was irrelevant.
Think many of the tweeters/fail types who annoyed me today still think this is for Ryanair weekend break types
