:covid_19: đŸ˜· đŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ❓

I remember his nephew saying ‘you always have one uncle in the family who is odd’. In our family we definitely have one! He keeps spamming our family Facebook group with family history which is thankfully not on Piers’ level.

Yeah one of my colleagues also has COPD. I saw her last Feb in person. She also managed to break her back in her house in Lockdown! So was out of action a while.

Sage minutes published today show The governments top scientific advisors warned last month that a “complete, pre-emptive closure of borders” was needed to prevent new coronavirus strains being imported into the UK. So not following the advice then. Doing everything we possibly can? Outright lies. Why are the media not all over this? Apparently Heathrow has been nearly as busy as before the pandemic, I’m sure it’s no different in Manchester etc. They are going to get round to it in ten days time, Hancock says they are taking advice from Australia first. Australia stopped flights and closed their borders in March 2020! It’s a bit late now, the stable doors are swinging and the horse has long bolted and scattered to all parts.
Surely nobody can be this inept, i do sometimes wonder what is really going on here. Dear old Michael Rosen penned a letter to The Guardian a few weeks ago, which they refused to publish. I’m not surprised. These people must be held to account for the points he raises, their plan of action, not just the politicians but scientific placemen like Patrick Vallance.

A Covid bonus or a Government trying to head off a massive backlash from the electorate?

Tories pursuing policy more socialist than Starmer’s Labour shocker!

“shocker”? :thinking::smile::smile:

Not sure where this should go, but here will do.
Got my first vaccination today - close to home (5 minutes drive). Thanks to all those who gave sound advice about booking - it was much easier than I first thought. My advise would be take your time when booking, and don’t waste time making notes as you go - all the information you need is given to at the end
NHS and all volunteers were cheerful, helpful and efficient.
Only bad point - I did ask for a badge, or even a sweet or lollipop, but they had neither!

Nope didn’t get a badge either
did get the card with the Vaccine name and batch number.
Oakley Rd I presume.

Kid Goat got her jab today and was giving it the large one when she got in saying she was going to get her vaccine card framed. Then realised she couldn’t find it. Mrs G drove her back to hospital. Couldn’t find it. Then went to Pets at Home (they’d stopped there on way home). Found it in car park, wet and filthy. Won’t be framing that.

Got the Astra Zeneca, which for some reason I was hoping it would be.

You’d have been embarrassed by empty Pfizer boxes laying around the place?

Gosh she must be one of the youngest to get it?

I remember the Western hospital being on the site decades ago - had my adenoids out there years ago.
STD clinic? I did use the toilet, but I didn’t do a sitting down jobby, and washed my hands in hot water, also used the hand sanitiser at least three times, so I’m probably OK!
