:covid_19: đŸ˜· đŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ❓

Germany closing borders from tomorrow.

Just checked the cupboard for supplies - old mother hubbards dog got more joy than me - unless some one has a book called “1001 recipes with tinned tomatoes” we are screwed

For people who process information visually, that’s an excellent siumulation.

If you watch that sim in conjunction with reading the article on Italy you can see why those 10k who fled south after the north was locked down

The other sobering fact is we are all getting it

And the press in Italy that published notification of the shutdown early that enabled the 10,000 to ‘escape’ were irresponsible - in the same way, that briefing one ITV journalist about likely future measures is irresponsible.

Some data regarding the early Italian shutdown

So why on earth are the French holding elections?

Yes but for 99%+ they will only get very mild cold/flu symptoms. The issue with this fucker is that too many wont even notice they have it and continue to pas it on so that there own oldies will get it
there is an element of truth in the fact that dumb fucks wont self isolate for more than about 7 days (even though the same dumb fucks seem to be holding food for 70 weeks and enough bog roll for having the constant shits for eternity
), so if w accept we will mostly all get it, what is the best way to slow it down so that we have max capacity for those who need the intensive care? I am no expert but I suspect 50% of the deaths due to this will be considered preventable in the aftermath had we simply tried to slow it down and had adequate facilities to cope

There is a nightmare scenario we hadn’t thought about.
IF social isolation lasts too long, we will all reach a point where the only thing left we haven’t watched will be Frozen II.

PS
I am lucky as I work from home
but have had cough and fever for a few days, a wife with cancer and a daughter just recovered from a sever hepatic illness that began last July. I am self isolating. We have enough food for a week or so and if I run out of bog roll will just use the fucking shower
 its not hard.

In a weeks time, if I should have recovered and will check if still contagious. If not I can do some shopping
if the ignorant fucks have left anything on shelves

Seeing how the shutdown policy is gaining strength. Self isolation like us is wise. Nations now talking Curfews ffs
But this will get worse. I dont advocate panic buying but you should still try to order normal volumes of shopping for (eventual) online delivery.
Or at least use Deliveroo/Ubereats to stretch your stocks

Too late, I have watched it about 50 times

My son, who was working and living in China, says he has heard from friends there, who say life is almost back to normal. So perhaps the WHO might be able to form some better idea of the cycle timing if so.
