- Last week 87,045 cases were identified in London, a rate of 971 cases per 100,000 population
Which makes Londonās population [(87,045 / 971) * 100,000] approx 8,964,470
- The total number of COVID-19 cases identified in London is 438,497 as at 04 January 2021
9,964,470 / 438,497 = 20.44
So approx 1 in 20ā¦
Of course thatās all current and past cases, so it would be better to say 1 in 20 people in London have or have had Coronavirus
Again the 438k figure is just based on the people who have been tested so could be much higherā¦

āWeāre now into a situation where across the country as a whole, roughly one in 50 people have got the virus, higher in some parts of the country, lower in others,ā he said.
That latest estimates include:
- One in 30 for London
- One in 45 for south-east England, eastern England and north-west England
- One in 50 for the East Midlands

- One in 65 for the West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber
- One in 135 for south-west England

Just canvassed YoungAdults #1 & #2 and neither thing the story really holds up to the reality for most students.
#2 is in his 2nd year like the person in the article - he doesnāt recognise the behavior.
Different people are coping on not coping with the whole covid situation but the BBC isnāt helping hereā¦IMHO
It is where I work, I was discussing this with some colleagues earlier and it doesnāt t ring true with us eitherā¦

Yeah, we did wonder about the motives, but then Iām doing a lot of stuff about the impact of Covid/ lockdowns on individual mental health so I didnāt want to ācast nasturtiumsā
