:covid_19: 😷 šŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ā“

I should also say that I am also in favour of a devolved English Parliament. The situation Blair and his people left us in is beyond ridiculous.

Devolution for low population places that are getting uppity? Cool. Devolution for England?

Tell you what, we’ll try the North East first. We’ll see if we can make a nation out of Mackems, Geordies and the Smogbreathers!

I take artistic licence of course, but that was basically New Labour’s plan. They either didn’t use that common sense that @Shroppie was referring it to or wanted it to fail.

Bloody silly of them. The SNP have gotten to use Westminster as a codeword for English for years, and English voters have been less protected from Westminster (England!) than the Scots have.

The bloke down the Pub :man_facepalming:

The questions for me is - Is he delivering? If so who gives a fuck. Well done to the guy who was staring business Armageddon in the face, sees an opportunity and buys in expertise at his own risk and is now successfully supplying 2m medical grade vials a week - the key point that is being overlooked is that he is supplying a company who has a contract - he hasn’t been awarded one himself

Agree with every word.
It is a growing habit in business to follow process. Demand data. Driven in no small way by everyone having MBA’s which teach you that.
The process was to fill in a form on a website. Fair enough.
But and it is a big but.
In 40+ years I have never got a job nor an order filling in a form like that.
It has always involved instinct, or something in short supply, ā€œentrreprenurial flairā€.
Page 1 of sales training - identify customer need.
It never said fill in a form.

Tier 2 on the south coast

So, as leaked to the press a couple of days ago, most of the country is going to be in Tier 2 or 3 after the lockdown (what lockdown?) ends.

And, as expected, everyone is whinging that they shouldn’t be at Tier 2 or 3.

Cornwall is going to be Tier 1.

My mate Eugene tells me that MBA stands for ā€œMy balls are up my arseā€

And I believe him

Southampton in Tier 2 means max 2000 fans, which I understand is not financially viable. If done, will only be as a sop to fans.

This doesn’t make any sense to me, put an area in Tier-2 to contain the virus but then allow 2,000 people to mix at a football stadium…

Liverpool have been relegated, whereas we have been promoted.

Agreed. Bowing to PL pressure?

And is 2,000 people in a 32,000 seater stadium going to really make an atmosphere.

I can understand it in the lower leagues with smaller stadiums, a la Bompey, but in the larger stadiums??

There is no such thing as the Chapel Ultra.

Strangely it doesn’t feel how I thought it would be

Well, he has been awarded a contract - to supply to the company supplying the NHS - he will be a sub contractor in the process and have a duty of care to the end user through the 3rd party rights act.
And i bet it is more luck than judgement that he hasn’t fucked up. We tender for works and place contracts all the time. This would be the equivalent of a bloke coming in off the street and telling me he could install a complex heating / cooling / air conditioning / ventilation / BMS system to a new building because he once sold a few electric panel heaters at a car boot sale.
My ISO systems wouldn’t allow it. Neither would my insurance cover.
The risk of employing Joe Cunt to provide essential services is huge.
Essential services shouldn’t be fucked about with.
