Friends in town, landed today going home Monday. Boss has to take them on their countryside trip tomorrow.
Because we saw the announcement was able to call them, they managed to change their Easyjet flight for free to Sunday night.

To be fair this is to be expected as we are still on the upward part of the curve as more folks are tested we expect an exponential rise before we see a plateau. Even if everyone were to stay at home now, it might simply slow it, but we would probably see a spike come laterā¦ epidemiology is a complex thing, and whilst I am no fan of that idiot Boris and his bumbling, there is a logic in what the clinical experts were stating yesterdayā¦ that the more draconian measures need to be induced hen they are most effective - eg people follow themā¦ but I am no epidemiologistā¦
Again, what many folks have an issue with is not that this is not considered a very serious pandemic, but that the stats in isolation dont have context and so it creates an atmosphere of āFearā as opposed to a calm population doing its part in a calm and rational wayā¦ we see headline numbers that have now died in Italy, it is obviously concerning, but in context of how many folks have sadly died from other preventable diseases, these are still small numbers (Thankfully). The real concern is that at peak, the Healthcare systems cant cope with the numbers who need specialist care - that is where resources should be put in place so that we dont see more deaths than we would expect simple through inadequate care facilities.

Watched the Chief Scientific Officer earlier saying that we need to aim for herd immunity. Without this we risk the virus coming back in the winter.
To get there we need 60%+ of the population to have developed an immunity.
And for that to happen we need 60%+ of the population to be infected and recovered.
And now the governmentās slightly relaxed response suddenly makes more sense.
The population, the human beings that inhabit these islands, seem to have been reduced to numbers in a spreadsheet entitled āBalancing deaths against GDPā.

Well I said this yesterday I believe, this approach means the most vulnerable will die, but thatās ok and the ones that live will continue to work and pay taxes, normally the most vulnerable and elderly are expendable, well to a tory you see.

So for a moment, assume while the masses exhibit an aura of thickness, those with high risk family members follow advice. Self isolate & keep their loved ones safe.
Meanwhile, the masses carry on as normal and letās say 80% get the bug but like Callum Odoi, dont get so sick.
Then in 3 months time one numpty sneezes and a majority of people around them are immune, the virus has nowhere to go.
Meanwhile here, we all emerge in 2 weeks, 1 person coughs it spreads like wildfire.
Now I prefer our approach, but I can now see some logic in what appeared to be madness.
Meanwhile a family friend who is late 30ās and did National Service eons ago has been notified of probable call-up. His words? The shit gets real in 3 weeks.
Now desperately searching for stocks of Golden Virginia. Only have 18 days worth bollox.
