Might you be here all week, perchance?

We can hope not…

Yes.

As someone who received a shielding letter just a couple of weeks ago, I was interested to read last night that restrictions for shielders were being lifted and I could go out with someone from my household as of Monday. I thought I must have missed the announcement in the briefing but this morning found out the announcement was made at 10pm last night. What on earth is that all about. I have absolutely no faith in this government or their motives.

They are simply trying to save the economy at the expense of peoples lives so nothing new

Lots of people on the radio this morning saying exactly the same thing.

There seems to have been zero consultation, no informal discussions and no media coverage of the upcoming announcement.

It’s causing a lot of anxiety for people who were told to shield for 10 weeks - under fear of likely death if they contracted the virus.

Now, with 300+ deaths yesterday and with 8000 cases (still) a day they are told with 24 hours notice they can break their self exclusion.

Many are deeply worried and are, perhaps correctly, asking what has changed.

This is a point well made…

All the more so if this article is even semi-accurate:

I would just like to point out it wasn’t a tragedy, it was Nemesis/Darwin’s Award territory.

Anyone who climbs the arch at Durdle Door and jumps off deserves all they get, and it was 3 of them that injured themselves. Morons.

Apparently the crowds on the beach were clapping and encouraging them to jump as well. I give up with my fellow humans.

At least it will take 3 of the Instageneration out of circulation for a while.
Perhaps they can try to swim underwater to America next time.

Probably a Labour activist.

What I ā€˜liked’ about the article is that it didn’t appear to be sensationalised - simply chaotic under-preparedness. Unfortunately, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s an essential service that should have been in place since March.

Fingers crossed.

They’re just winging this. From what I can gather from friends the majority of the UK don’t trust or understand the Government current policy. Maybe it’s just my age group.

I’ve lost track of what we’re meant to be doing and I think the govt has as well. It’s like they’ve given up. All I set on TV and social media are beaches and parks rammed full of people. It’s like a collective resignation led by inept politicians.

If I’m being honest it’s beginning to depress me. I don’t mind lockdown. In fact I quite like it but I don’t want it to go on forever and each day 300 people die. I’d like it to start to improve but that’s not going to happen the way we’re going.

Think of it this way - there won’t be any bed blockers when you need to go to the care home

Your pension annuity will shoot up

And you will get a Labour govt next time around because most of the Tory voters will have died

Oh, and if you are a remainer - a second referendum is a shoe in

Even as an arch remained, the systematic euthanasia of a load of Brexit voting old folks, is a tad too far imho…

Again, this is another very good point well made…

Got a mate you don’t like. Scam him and make him isolate for 14 days - make sure you sound ā€œprofessional and trainedā€.
