:covid_19: 😷 šŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ā“

Fergus Walsh at the top of his game…or this is so far from logical that nobody could have answered it without say ā€œI don’t fucking know. It makes no sense!ā€.

…you could think about having a window open

LOL.

It should be noted that this is the three months to March - just one week into the formal lockdown.

Car sales are down as well. Plus, I hear the airlines are reporting a slight drop in passenger numbers.

I wonder what’s going on?

The bit that I thought worthy of comment was this…

I know. But I’d have thought it’s going to be more like half for the next quarter, with massive chunks of the economy simply shut down.

Very good!

Not at all. You’ll have to excuse my lack of correct terminology here as i’m no expert, but we invested heavily on providing an off site server based system for the company which works well. All staff who are not furloughed have been working happily at home (when they can) or on site. It costs a fortune, but is a commitment we made. But it doesn’t mean we can do everything from home. Strangely enough you cannot dig a fucking hole and fill it with concrete from your bedroom.

Oh, and on "You carry on with your ā€œessential worksā€, whatever the fuck they are." - does working to provide NHS facilities including helping transform part of a GP Surgery to enable a mobile covid testing centre to be established, suit your criteria?

I hope I’m as fit as that at 53.

There’s no way he’s 100.

He’s a blagger. Tells everyone he’s 100, gets pints bought for him, gets shopping collected for him.

He’s been telling the lie for so long he’s even got loads of anecdotes.

Ask my mother she was there at the time.

Four kids all pensioners.

Bollocks I say. He’s 62 and only just saw the Falklands War.

When all this is over, this will be the focus of the public enquiry.

This is the thread he’s reading.

It’s fucking criminal.

And I’ve just watched this on Sky News.

Again, criminal. Heartbreaking stories…

…Yet Government was there celebrating the sacrifice the elderly generations made to bring about VE day… you could not make it up…

Oh, I see.

So when you said you were doing office work, you weren’t really doing office work. It seems from this post that it’s not really office work, and is in fact, fucking digging.

Glad that’s all cleared up. I honestly don’t know I could have gotten confused with your twisting tale which grows more incrementally worthy and inspiring in each telling.

I too supply the NHS. It isn’t as important as a hole or a tent outside a GP surgery, but we have managed to deliver millions of meds to millions of customers all across the country.

I’ll slink off now and ponder how I ever get to your levels of worthiness.

Genuine question @pap - are you ok?

Yes, hon. You? x

Chill. We have ā€˜office’ and ā€˜site office’ work That may not have been clear but I don’t really differentiate between the two. For instance I don’t have a drawing plotter at home and I cant get invoices directed to home so I have to go to the ā€˜office’ to do work (amongst other thing) and ā€˜site office’ work means covering site works in all their glory.

It is not a question if worthiness, Pap. We are all trying to do our best to get through this and everyone is playing a part in making things better. No one should be point scoring. It is not really worthwhile trying to pick faults in the way anyone works.

It wasn’t clear. You told me to shut the fuck up when you should have offered this clarification then.

Could have saved all the bother.

Still, I guess if you’re used to digging holes…

Yes, i did because you were on a wind up and were being judgmental, without knowing anything about us. Could have saved the bother by not being so. I guess we’re both to blame. I’ll let you have the last word though, being the psychological professional you are.

Starmer has just read some of this quote from the Telegraph to Johnson during PMQs.

Johnson said everything was fine in care homes at the time and it’s getting better.

Labour leader questions discharges to care home

Keir Starmer now reads out a quote from a cardiologist who says patients suspected of having the coronavirus were moved from hospitals to care homes, without warning or support.

Boris Johnson replies that ā€œthe number of discharges from hospitals to care homes went down in March and April.ā€

ā€œWe had a system of testing people going into care homes,ā€ he says adding ā€œthat testing is being ramped up.ā€

It could be argued that the number of people being discharged from hospitals to care homes went down because they were all dying maybe? Or not being admitted in the first place? Pure fucking spin :lou_angry:
