OOut of contract in summer so not that much of a steal, but fair?
That his agent? Looks a bit of a scary unit to me
The comment was: “Southampton with possibly the signing of the season, surely. Charlie Austin has gone for a bargain price. This should have meant clubs queuing up. Why did other clubs not come in for him? Amazing, an absolute steal”
I think the suggestion is other clubs were not competing for him, because if they were, the price would have been driven up.
Looks like he’s stapling Charlie boys legs together
This deal got done by all accounts last year, when QPR went down it was a case of when not if and we acted very quickly, great business and we’ll probably never know the deal or the true amount.
Rubbish.
Another Goddam wannabe Jihadist signed for our once great club.
Bloody Championship Level Sick Note has been.
4Million? FFS. That marks him as being the same level as Rory Delap, you mark my words.
Will sow huge discord amongst the ranks and stop the Legend that is Juanmi getting his first start for us. We will rue the day we stopped the new Messi’s chance. Shlong’s work rate will drop off as he sees himself dropped down the pecking order behind a statue and a sick note.
We are doomed.
(And no wonder SRL has been absent from the EPL this season. When did he get back from Syria? How come he never got arrested?)
Yeah. I fancy him.

Charlie Austin scores a superb goal against #SaintsFC with previous club QPR FC in September 2014. ( St Mary’s Stadium )

Is it just me, or does he sound remarkably like Ricky Gervais?
Yeah!..it’s just you.
Ain’t we got a good collection of forwards now? Pelle, Austin, Long, Mane, Rodriguez.
In our first game back in the Premier League, Guly Do Prado started up front.

pleased with this signing. Even if he’s shit, it’s only £4m, which is just a little more than we paid for Mayuka. I can’t see him being shit, his goal scoring record at every club he’s been at is fantastic and he’s done in the Premier. For someone with apparently dodgy knees, he seems to play a reasonable amount of games.
Was just about to write something similar. I know that we’re all greedy and would like to strengthen in multiple places, but with some key players recently returned, Austin may end up being the final piece of the puzzle.
Think of all those chances we’ve missed this season…if they had been converted we’d be top of the league, probably.
Yup, I was. We’ve been on the receiving end of some nasty results this season, but getting thrashed is actually rare. Most of the losses can best be described “prick-teasey-taka”.
Austin netted 18 league goals last year in very difficult circumstances. He kept his consistency as his team fell apart. In the early days, he also had to live with the perpetual stench of the turds that spew forth from Harry “Two Relegations” Redknapp’s cakehole.
I have to believe we’ll be a better environment for him
Did anyone else hear that fat twat Quinn bleating today about Austin daring to refuse to go to Newcastle, fat skate cunt.
Beautifully put as usual Barry, is that Keats or Shakespeare ?
I’m more of a Whitman fan myself to be fair.

Yeah i feel like we have to be 7 times better than the opposition to get a result. If we’re only 6 times better, or i.e the games is more even, we usually get beat. It’ll be nice to hear the opposition moaning how unlucky they are, and how the only difference between the sides was our finishing. It’ll be nice to pick up wins when we’re shit, like Man Utd do.
Love reading all the Twitter rants from fans of Man U, Spuds, Chelsea, Swansea, Newcastle etc complaining that their clubs did not land him. Quite a few are complimentary about us getting him though.
This is the best one:
"Great news for Liverpool fans. They’ll be able to sign Charlie Austin for £30m in the summer now he’s at Southampton"
David Gold has been on Twitter tonight hinting that Austin may be costing Saints 100K a week in wages. I’ve run his comments through an online translator. These things are never 100% accurate
