Burnley FC versus Southampton FC .. Build up and Match Thread

The telling sign that your team did well, was any of those players on the pitch, could have got Man of match. Also the fact that Liverpool with all their talent, had a lot of the ball, but were broken down in the final 3rd, with one real shot on target. We did a job on them.

It’s almost as if Claude is not a clueless cunt when the players do their jobs.

When it is obvious we are a selling club and we breed players to sell why don’t we admit it?

Why don’t we say we can’t compete and we’ll never be able to due to the corrupt system?

Why don’t we say and advocate a new system could be fairer for all? Ie Salary caps, squad/1st team with a certain amount of British players in.

When I support my team I support more than the club, its the City, its where I am from, football may not like that but that is what a supporter is in my eyes, the club will change, as will the players, they have no care for the club at all, football is an extension of me and my identity not some game every week, thats for Sky Sports fans and the modern day “fan”.

Thank you for pointing that out about the Liverpool game. We were very good and it was a joy to watch(ok another goal or two would’ve been better).

I was considering not going as i got out of work late and faced 3 1/2 hours of sitting in traffic just to get there. So glad i didn’t give up on them. Left the ground absolutely buzzing and the drive home was a breeze.

We’re nowhere near as bad as some would imply(except goal scoring. We really are shit at that).

Because quite frankly this journey has run its course with the Liebherrs and they want to sell, why put more in and they wouldn’t anyway as they have had the opportunity to turn us into a City or Chelsea and they haven’t.

So why can’t Puel grow some balls and say that? Someone has to be at fault for consistent poor drab games, who do you blame?

Do you honestly believe we can be turned into a City or Chelsea just by chucking a few hundred million around? Your talking shite Barry. Look at a map.

You also haven’t answered the question about you wanting the club to do something that you are not comfortable with and could potentially destroy the club.

I wouldn’t be confrotable with it and they wouldn’t do it, a few hundred million? An awful lot more than that but there we go.

A map Barry. Look a fucking map. London, Manchester, Southampton.

Yes been to them many times, your point?

Stick the ball in the onion bag, and those ‘drab’ tactics turn into the dogs bollox, spot on tactics, but with execution. At the moment they are spot on tactics, that a falling short, for obvious reasons. Yesterday we were by far the better team, so good on the ball, but as we all fucking know we are lacking a striker, that are scouts (not manager) cannot seem to find. So the manager keeps working with what he has, that is all HE can do!

I forgot to mention, well you can’t say I haven’t told you about JWP, the lad isn’t good enough and doesn’t do enough, for 3 years now he has managed to escape, there is always one in a re org, he is the one in the squad.

Poch, Koomen and Peul would beg to differ. 3 mangers who are working in the premier league. They have to see something in the lad.

You want investment? Investors want return on their investment. Population is important if you want to grow a club. So as an investor that wants a large potential fan Base where do i go?

9 and 19 are interesting.

We look better on this one, but it includes Portsmouth.

Have a read if you can be bothered. Our only appeal for an investor would seem to be, how the club is run. Thank fuck for Les.

What? He is slow, doesn’t score, passes sideways (Puel must wank over him) and hasn’t improved in 3 years, he is in the team for corners and he can’t take free kicks either.

Most teams have a player who keeps play ticking over. Simple pass and let the players, who are more creative and direct do something with it. I’m not saying he is outstanding, but he is still young and can do a job for Saints. We have had players like this is in the past, most notably Oakley, who also used to get slated for passing sideways. It is always the players like this that get it in the neck, as they do not get noticed as much for the important role they do at helping to break down the oppo and regain possession, to star an attack.

Sorry again Bletch. I just tried a different way and it made no difference.

I liked the second one better… it is bigger. :lou_wink_2:

No mate, he hasn’t improved in 3 years and doesn’t warrant a place in a premier league side, that is what I am saying, he is not good enough as it stands, irrespective of what a manager does (he could be told to put him in) it doesn’t always make him correct, if so they’d all be doing well, wrong decision or choice.
