Did someone mention alternative systems of Government earlier?
Weeeeelllllll…
Yes, this exactly.
Where are JLR siting their next factory? In the Midlands? Nope, it’s Slovakia. Guess what? Slovakia is in the EU and they can sell their new E-Pace directly to their EU customers tariff free.
This thread has kicked me into gear. Realizing I had let complacency set in.
Yes, I possibly only have 3 more trips to Poland before Brexigeddon.
I’ve sorted out beer obviously, but all those other things that are so life critical.
Today armed with Google translate, I toured the village supermarkets searching for Musztarda.
That French stuff is here, but I found about 4 local varieties, a honey mustard, deli, mayo and local versions of Dijon.
Then I found this
Now it ain’t Coleman’s, not even Tesco Value but it is close enough for when my smuggling ring is off line.
Branson Pickle, pretty sure I’m gonna have to use a Chutney Ferret (backdoor) route and airfreight it in by the case from Dubai.
Next task to find someone who understands how to chop up a cow properly and make Steaks and Roasting joints.
Oh and I’m meeting local government team here tomorrow to set up an incubator for your Brit companies who actually already KNOW how to do business in the EU post Brexit
And no, you can wait for that story until after I sign the deal
What is the Viking part of Viking Mustard, Phil?
Viking “mustard”?
If so, those boys need to get their tubes checked out or seek employment in the cheese porn industry.
What, to be replaced by Javid?
What I am gathering is that you think benefits are too high and they’re encouraging people not to work?
How much do multinationals contribute to tax through corporation tax, income tax and NI contributions then?
Interested to know as you’re regarding it as a insignificant amount. My bet is that it’s far more than £350m per week.
I love Brexit Britain
Way too simple an explanation of Supply and Demand.
Yes, when something is more scarce it generally leads to a higher demand - but only to a specific portion of the market.
If Ferrari make a limited edition model they will increase the price. Do 95% of the British public really care or get affected by it?
If a specific brand of something (that would normally be affordable) becomes scarce, most people would switch to another brand.
If Panasonic suddenly made available 1 million CRT analogue TV’s, do you think the public would jump on the opportunity to buy them?
Obviously I’ve cherry picked some examples here.
With regards to a scarcity of unskilled labour - well a positive of that is the fact that employers are going to have to offer better working conditions to attract (or keep) staff. I think most people would agree that the elimination of zero hour contracts would be beneficial to 99% of the public.
Carole Caddwalladr. one of the best and bravest investigative reporters. See also Washington Post. New York Times. The Guardian is a beacon of truth in a world of moral greyness. Before you rubibish the “MSM” as a deep state conspiracy.

Dude, I struggle with English let alone being translingual or whatever.
(I was told it meant “strong” btw)
I think those examples are fine, @Smiler, as is the sentiment behind the final paragraph. I know contracts tend to be written in favour of the employer, but even so, I think its important that they offer some degree of mutual benefit.
The simplicity does hold because we’re dealing with a commodity that many firms need; human labour. That need isn’t going to disappear overnight, especially because the abundance of human labour has been used as a Band Aid for automated solutions that don’t quite work.
The Guardian is the guardian of apartheid. The Guardian of New Labour. The Guardian of the establishment. Guardian of European Union.
It stopped being The Guardian, of Manchester, or of much decent, many years ago.
You forgot propagator of fake news.
This article is yet again full of it.
“Eastern Ghouta is also where chemical weapons were used by Assad’s forces as recently as April, a crime Russian diplomacy has been busy denying in various international forums.”
Not according to the OPCW Natalie. Seems you owe the Russians an apology(once you catch up with the rest of the world).
When the UK vote to leave the EU happened we had one of the fastest growing economies in the G7. Now we have the slowest. #takingbackcontrol
Did the analysts take the venal, incompetent government of indirect murderers into account when charting our fall? Can’t imagine they much good at running an economy.
Well, we know you like to use past history as an indicator, so just analyse the previous 6 years performance (2010 onwards)…
Nothing accidental about it. This was always the plan. No bonfire of regulations otherwise.
No need to panic either. You’re well stocked up with tinned food, so it’ll go by in a blur(assuming you have lots of alcohol).
An accident is when you follow through and shit your pants. You are right though, no deal was always the plan. But of course this is all the fault of the EU, forcing us to leave the club. Oh - hang on a minute! Our ration books will probably be printed in France too. Bastards.
