Is it a kick in balls over tax?

The upside of such a massive defeat is that it leaves the EU in no doubt about how much of a turd their deal is and if they want their £39bn they are going to have to think again.

Interesting way to break a deadlock, may be May is a tactical genius :lou_wink_2:

Ah, it’s all the EUs fault? Isn’t it about time you took some responsibility for the way you voted? Listening to you anyone would think that the UK were kicked out. We weren’t, this was a decision made by the UK. A referendum called by Cameron to appease the Ukippers and racists in the Tory Party, never in his wildest dreams did he think a leave vote would result. As evidenced by him running to the hills when it happened. Time to take some responsibility for this total fuck up i think. It is estimated that one in three people voted to leave because it would get rid of the ‘Furriners’. Most of them over sixty five, a goodly proportion of them now dead. Tell them to go whistle for the 39 billion eh? That will go down really well with the countries who we are hoping to strike new trade deals with. The rest of the civilized world are shaking their heads and wondering what is happening to this country, what the fuck are we doing. And you see it as an "upside’? Deary deary me, i despair.

Even if what your estimates say are true, and I severely doubt there is any poll option in the world which was phrased the way you put it that attracted a full third of Leave voters, £39billion is a very big price to pay for control over your own immigration policy.

With the highly contrived “impossible to clear” backstop, it’s daylight robbery.

One thing you would get a majority for is after all the fuckery, the Eurocrat cunts deserve nowt.

Just talk to people on the ‘Clapham omnibus’. You don’t need a poll. Whether you like it or not the over riding reason why the average Joe on the street voted to leave was immigration. The hilarious thing is that the stupid fuckers were too stupid to realize that the result of their vote was to get rid of white Europeans, working in our hospitals, public services etc, who will be replaced by ‘brown skinned’ people from the sub continents. Serves them right. Karma is a bitch.

We already had control over our immigration policy as a member of the EU. Our government chose to pretend otherwise and not implement it. Another big fat lie from the leave campaign.

I am happy with the way I voted.i am not happy with our elected representatives who have tried at all stages to thwart the implementation of the result of that referendum.

Now May has been crap, but she has been fighting a battle with EU whilst having her negotiating position consistently undermined by pretty much the entire house be they ERG or remainers.

The EU are not innocent. They have a vested interest to make this painful as possible and they have succeeded magnificently thanks to our MPs complicity.

The EU made a big deal of the £39bn = it was their number 1 priority. Remember, no talk of future relationships until you pay your divorce bill?

Well currently there is no future deal, so fuck them. They can tap up the Irish for the shortfall.

We don’t manufacture or mass manufacture (we’ve had this debate before) anymore and globalisation as well as Thatcher has killed it, this once great nation is fucked, EU or no EU as Europe is fucked by globalisation as well, the solution? Fuck knows I leave that to the snowflakes who know how to makes things.

2 great posts in here by Baz & Pap about the destruction Thatcher caused.
In isolation every word of Paps rant I agree with. Historically though the evil has been globalisation not killing the Unions.
With 90% of the planet basically operating without great social structures, the UK would imho have been in a much bigger mess, although you’d probably still be driving Austin Allegros.
Macron is now paying the price for the globally insane Utopian labour laws that France introduced and now need to draw back.
People want Primark unfortunately so Asia builds and the West spends.
So obvious that a Nation that gave up Apprenticeships in favour of soft degrees and the subsequent gig economy and AI still to come would struggle.when Banks do deals for instant returns not long term innovation and investment in industry.
I have no idea where to apportion blame, which side to support.
All I am seeing is that trying to live a life of balance and trying to do the right thing all the time is as archaic as the Coal Mines.
Welcome to the Me Me Me era, and those self serving morons in Westminster who ushered it in.

On the issue of trades and such, you can blame Ken Clarke, who was responsible for the mass conversion of old polytechnics into new fangled Universities, one of which I attended. Before that, going to Uni meant going to uni, and polytechnics handled all the higher education vocational stuff. Before that, BTECs were seen as a legitimate vocational counterpart to degrees. After that, they were seen as something the thick kids did.

You can then blame Tony Blair, for convincing the country that half its children should go to University.

Finally, you can blame any cunt that sneers at an honest job, and wonder what a world without cleaners would look like.

Not from EU member states. The only way you get away with that claim is taking the view that the EU is one big state, and we’re all citizens of that state, therefore it is not immigration.

That’s a viewpoint worthy on discussion on its own merits, but not one that is shared by the majority of the EU referendum electorate.

Anyone watching Channel 4 news re Brexit? Using the Bandersnatch options type thing. Made it more interesting.
