:brexit: Brexit - Deal or no deal

That is an unreasonable demand.

I do not have the lifetime capacity to question five million Labour voters on their reasons for voting Leave in the EU referendum.

Anyone checking ditches this evening?
To make sure he stays there obv.

We know why. It was repeated constantly.
“They are taking our jobs and putting undue pressure on public services”.
That plus a few meaningless three word slogans.
So i’d ask where in Britain do these voters live(easy to look up) and where in this country did the economic migrants from EU countries move to(also easy to find)?

Well I just want to know how many Labour voters votes remain as I suspect it’s more tha 5 mil who voted leave

Most old school labour voters I have spoken with voted remain because issues like FOM and economic implications effecting the most vulnerable in society - despite acknowledging the democratic flaws of the institution… more pragmatism than dogma

It would appear that there never was 5m, but people that don’t supply a source also fail to inform you that the figure comes from farage.
Try 3.9m or 30%.

How many in the North have you asked? Not some metropolitan elite wankpit.

  1. That is pretty insulting to anyone who lives south of Watford… but then again you do like to live on the ‘edge’…

  2. You do know I live a little further North than you dont you? and I am talking about folks from Sheffield, Newcastle, Berwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bolton, Fife (check the poverty levels here where I live…) so maybe you might just want fact check a little before blundering in as it make you look a bit of a twat…

So how many Labour voters voted Remain? do you know? or will you make up a figure of 5 mil like Farage?

3.1 Million approx and most of them will be from the North of England.

No I didn’t know you were from Scotland, which is the same as the South in the context of the EU and leaving, its only being used as a wedge by the tories in tartan to gain or attempt to independence from the UK.

That’ll never happen.

so 3.1 million labour voters voted for Brexit… out of how many Labour voters in total… given that 12.8mil voted labour in last general election, how many of those voted remain… could be as many as 9 mil or more given the higher turnout in the ref… So even with Pap/Farage 5 mil, its all about context… which seems to have been lost.

25/30% Labour, thats enough to fuck up Labours chances and give the tories and Brexit party power.
Scotland will quite rightly have a vote (or I hope they do) on their position (I want them to stay) but they’ll bleat, whinge, moan and remain in the Union and afterwards they’ll bleat, whinge and moan about it.
Can you imagine a hard border at Carlisle?

Scotland would be closed down for lack of business.

Thats not the point… more labour voters are for remain than Brexit if we take those figures… so should the party alienate 10mil plus voters to keep 3.1 mil happy? not sure the is vote winning is it

Labour should be spending their energies acknowledging the issues with the EU democratic processes, yet convincing the labour brexit voters that tory austerity is the route cause of their disenfranchisement, not Pavel Polski their local friendly plumber (with apologies for the stereotyping)

Labour can’t get into power without them, Labour said it would honour the vote.
The Labour is due another split, maybe you can have that twat Umanna lead the Southern Labour branch,

Yep, Labour split because of the manipulation of the Tory Brexiteer cleverness… so Labour should be unifying by getting those 3.1 mil back into the remain camp… easier than convincing 10mil to go Brexit…

I’ll think you’ll find traditional Labour has always been EU sceptic, the SNP also, try saying that now up there? People forget the party they joined and arrogantly think they can change it to suit their agenda or as a ticket to power.
Labour left us not the other way round, fuck Blair and the remnants of NU Labour.

The problem is a huge disconnect between Labour ‘Traditional’ Policy and the pragmatism of voters - too many party elite/leadership seem to believe their voters should simply all fall in line with party policy. Most voters have too many other issues to deal with, that are more important than all the political huff an puff… But are not immune to the shitty lies when having suffered for last 10 years…

Are you saying the people and places that have been shat on and taken for granted for generations aren’t being pragmatic?
This was their chance and by fuck they took it, I applaud them and admire them for it.

… by blaming the wrong institution… yeah very good.

You miss the point, the establishment wanted the opposite result, thats enough.
A Pyrrhic victory? Maybe but that is another discussion but when you have fuck all you can’t lose anything else only others can.

Even if it is only 3.1m, still a shitload more than the majority of 1.2m, init

I watched Sajid Javid being interviewed by Peston last night, although his interviewing technique leaves a lot to be be desired. It basically involves Peston and politician chatting like two old mates, liberal use of christian names and much laughing and joking. Peston would benefit from remembering the old adage,“The relationship between a journalist and a politician should be that of a dog and a lamp post”. Javid was just awful, waffling, gulping away, clearly lying his arse off and and yet Peston just let him carry on, didn’t seriously challenge him at all. Likewise the BBC, watching any news programs yesterday you would not have known that it was Boris Johnson who halted the Withdrawal Agreement. Everyone but. It really is shameful.
Here is our chancellor’s true opinion on the impact Brexit will have. This was before his deluded lust for power and all the trappings, ministerial limousines etc led him to arrogantly dismiss the need for any economic impact assessment. We are governed by hypocritical, self serving scumbags.
