They’re jumping because the MPs letters are piling up…
They’ve still got to get a majority of Tory MPs, but even so, I wonder if words have been had and this is indeed the moment.
Mind you, we’ve all been thinking that for some weeks and Johnson hasn’t gone yet. That majority is a tall order and I don’t think Rishi is a safe bet. People have very short term memories and the furlough won’t matter if folk are strapped for cash come polling day and someone is offering an alternative*.
* No-one will be offering an alternative.
Curl up like a cat and live under Rishi’s feet.
That may be his plan. I somehow can’t see Rishi going along with it.
The Malcolm Tucker ending. Used and thrown away.
The problem with Rishi is all those Northern working class who voted Tory to get Brexit done (for the WRONG Reason). They will not want to see a PM of Indian descent.
Ah, so the Northerners are all racists, eh?
You must have a crystal clear view from that farm!
(fksake)
Never said they were all racists, but probably enough to erode the gains made against Labour, that’s the point.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens there. I suspect that the removal of Corbyn and installation of Starmer will be as lucrative, vote-wise, for the tories in the red wall as brexit was.
And another one gone apparently
They might as well clean house now - Boris can say he was carrying out what he promised at PMQs - will be a lot easier for him to bat off Kier next week
They could also do with a lot less Spads in there, maybe if he spent more time listening to the MPs in his party he may have made fewer missteps eg Owen Paterson
Twenty something unelected SPADs in the No 10 bubble are not going to have their finger of the pulse in quite the same way as an MP in a marginal seat.
Just don’t know - I would have thought they’ll make gains whatever on the last election - just be interesting to see if that is more or less with Rishi in charge.
I’m a long way from assuming that Rishi will be in the hot seat. I suppose most politicians would grab the top job given the chance, but I’m not at all sure he’s going to be keen on picking up the poisoned chalice at the moment.
Loaning people £200 to pay the gas bill isn’t going to win him many votes. Another cunt.
It’s a sad state of affairs when the best option, and the least cuntish option, is Jeremy Hunt.
Tories retain Southend West (Lab / Lib did not stand)
24% turn out
14858 voted
Tories got 12792
Spoiled ballots came second with 1084 and therefore retained it deposit
Now Johnson is getting a kicking by the clergy
