Honestly don’t think Starmer is landing a glove on Boris at PMQs. His advisers need sacking. In his first question, he obliquely addressed the Savile stuff, calling it a far right conspiracy theory until Boris points out that he himself apologised for the collective failure of the CPS to find the evidence.

He’s on the hook now. Boris’ advisors changed the battleground and no matter what is said now, it’ll stick.

And so it continues

Yup. Still in the news.

Cummings reckons this is a big one though. She’s been one of his aides since the London days.

Looking at the original article in the Spectator I saw this. An interesting read.

Rishi Sunak on the PM’s Savile comment.

“With regard to the comments, being honest, I wouldn’t have said it and I’m glad that the prime minister clarified what he meant,” Sunak says.

Bit of distancing going on there, and in all Dominic Cummings’ post-job performances, Sunak has emerged almost completely unscathed.

That’s because Dom recommended him

I wonder if Kier is getting a handle on Boris

When he loses his temper he is absolutely shit

A few more outbursts like that and he will be done for

Oops and another one

I’m still not convinced this Savile furore will hurt him over the long term. Anyone looking to replace him needs to do it now. The problem for Starmer is that it is generally accepted as a rule of life that the downside of being the boss is accountability.

I see that Boris acknowledged that Starmer was “not personally involved” and again, I am not sure that helps Starmer. The first question of many is going to be “why wasn’t he personally involved?”.

The other big problem is that Starmer and the other parts of the Labour right spent four years trying to assert that every problem in the Labour Party was Jeremy Corbyn’s responsibility. So why doesn’t the same apply to his time leading the CPS?

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Maybe about time someone did one of those Downfall parodies?

Quite. And it’s also fair to say that Corbyn wasn’t in anything like the same position of authority as leader of the opposition as Starmer was as head of the CPS.

Oops and another two

Like rats leaving a sinking ship…

“It’s all going off”, as the youngsters probably don’t say.

If any of them back Cummings’ claims up, the man is toast.

Rosenthal and his PPS were toast anyway - both were getting fired over the party gate

I reckon that Boris has decided not to waste this particular crisis - uncharacteristic decisiveness

Honestly don’t know which way this goes. Precedent would suggest he should be gone already, but Parliament has spent every year since Brexit turning precedent over, Remainers and Boris especially.

You think he made them walk? Can’t see that tbf. Jumping before being pushed seems more likely- creates more of a mess for Johnson to clear up.
