:gov: Boris Johnson is Still the Prime Minister

I have never been happy at the prospect of him as PM. I did vote for him but then I couldn’t stomach the alternative

That said I never imagined that he would be quite so shit

I can only think he is being used as a useful fool whilst we get through Covid and Brexit - who would want to risk their political careers on those topics

As soon as the coasts clears the knives will be out

They have run out of time

To be fair he had form before becoming PM - arguably the writing was on the wall from day one.

See 3 posts above

Oh I knew he would be shit - it’s the depths that he has plumbed is what has surprised me

I guess he fooled a lot of people with his completely fabricated cheeky man of the people routine.

Quite how the great unwashed didn’t pick up on the fact he was an arsehole with a sense of entitlement having been an Eton scholar and Bullingdon Club member I really don’t know.

Perhaps some voters still have that ingrained deference to their “betters”? Recent politics on his watch probably bear that out. More fool them.

From the BBC

“… Government adviser Allegra Stratton - who was seen with other No 10 staff joking about the party in a leaked video from last year - resigned just before the news conference, saying she would always regret her remarks.

Earlier Mr Johnson apologised in the Commons for this video, although he said that he had been repeatedly told there had been no party. The Metropolitan Police has now said they will not investigate the issue, due to lack of evidence…”

Lack of evidence?…:joy:…possibly courtesy of arguments put forward to the Met by Government legal advisors at god knows how much per hour maybe? It stinks.

I would have thought the statute of limitations for last year’s lockdowns would have expired by now? Can we get done for not wearing a mask in ten years time?

Depends whether it’s considered a criminal offence or not. There’s not criminal statute of limitations in the UK. A lot of normal people who were abiding by the “rules” including those not able to be with ill relatives etc would want a prosecution (or 10)

So here is the latest bullshit

WFH if you can, but carry on and have your christmas parties - what the fuck???

In the office everyone is quite happily distanced, at a party with a couple of bottles of wine swilling about their bellies - no chance.

But no - no mandate cancelling Christmas so businesses are faced with the decision to risk it and have the party or sack it off with no chance of getting their money back

Tory backbenchers are threatening a revolt against the implementation of plan B

What does Labour do here - they have been calling for plan B for weeks now - here it is

Do they vote for it or against it and risk being accused of playing politics with peoples lives

It’s my Xmas party tonight, so STFU.
