:gov: Boris Johnson is Still the Prime Minister

Labour were crapping on about it earlier so he has done it to shut Kier going on that he didn’t take it seriously

IMO

All as bad as one another tbf. We’ll be stuck with Johnson until we can get someone in the opposition that knows their arse from their elbow.

I think the Tories will keep him in place until midway through next year - then they can dump all the Covid shit onto him as well as any Brexit fallout

That gives the next leader two years to get ready for the next election and he / she is going to mega in comparison to Boris

Seems fair enough.

Bet he turns out to be more impartial than Boris is banking upon

A good read @Goatboy

Not really. It boils down to the New Statesman attacking Brexit, that’s all.

So, you and I have a different point of view. Not the end of the world

Not at all. Once the vote was cast I felt very strongly it should be honoured, but before the vote I wasn’t particularly bothered which way it went, in fact I didn’t cast a vote. But the piece Goat linked just reads to me as a diatribe against Brexit using Johnson’s dishonesty as a pretext.

But that is not strictly true is it. There are I think 5-6 paragraphs on Brexit amongst 30 on on other aspects of his relationship with the truth during his leadership, which seems pretty factual to me. Even the Brexit critique is more to do with his triumphalism, yet little resolution of the policies and agreements needed for an effective future trading relationship… again factual.

Are you sure you read the same article?

My favourite type of diatribe tbf. I used to think he was a bit of a “character”, but since he became PM and the more I read about him and his previous history it’s clear he’s a dangerous clown. We need fewer of his type wielding power. Unfortunately I struggle to see where an effective opposition is going to come from.

From within his own party

Any party tbf

Starmer isn’t going to cut it, and the lib dems are a running joke. Who’s left?

Incidentally, I was appalled when Johnson ended up in Downing Street. Perhaps the author of that New Statesman article might do well to reflect on why he’s there, and who (albeit unwittingly) enabled that to happen.

The lack of responsibility, perhaps personified in Keir Starmer, is staggering.

I’m picking on him because here is a man directly responsible for Labour shitting points in 2019 blaming Corbyn for everything. The 2nd referendum was both crucial and a betrayal of Labour’s voters in the Red Wall.

Luckily Corbyn had won the previous election so its fair to blame Starmer for costing him the seco…oh wait a minute…

As Kussenberg says, he was in the room.

I have no idea what to believe. Cummings is clearly motivated by revenge, has a track record for bending the truth and has yet to provide the evidence to the select committee that he promised.

That said, he was in the room. Is he being faithful to the truth or is he twisting words out of context or is he just bullshitting ??

It is a bit disingenuous that people now hold on to his words as gospel when he is bashing Boris, when a few months earlier, those same people were screaming liar at every thing he said.
