In theory Brexit will be done by Christmas and his job is done. Maybe originally they thought they would keep him on afterwards, but he has become too toxic to keep
Cummings issue was that he made way too many enemies to be effective - even before his Covid fuck up, the media, torys Mps, the opposition and the civil service were gunning for him.
I’d say his main problem is that he is a self-centered, deluded cunt.
He’s like Malcolm Tucker, but without the comedy value.

Self-centred? Absolutely. If you’re looking for someone that thinks he knows best, not sure you’re going to find another example.
Deluded? Certainly on some issues, but I think he knows this and that he’s something of an oddball. I will say that he nailed the Leave campaign and one of the biggest things he did in furtherance of that was (drum roll) talk to ordinary people.
He has probably outlived his usefulness though. Surely Boris has got enough about him to create verbal triptychs (a hallmark of the EU campaign and COVID).
