:gov: Boris Johnson is Still the Prime Minister

You would have thought by now that having seen the result of screaming racist at people who voted for Brexit, people might realise that far from changing peoples views, it does the opposite

I have already read the reason why the Tories won was because of the “thick northern racists“

I can’t see them flooding back if the “enlightened liberals from London” keep labelling them so

Jesus, really? Not allowed the fly to flag? We can’t say Christmas because it offends the Muslims! I know you don’t live here anymore but you can still do those things.

Yes. But over the years, the constant drop feed from the MSM of loony local authorities passing dumb ass rules eats away at the great mass in need of eugenics.

:lou_sunglasses:

Which is it? You’ve made two claims. You started saying it was the fault of people in race relations and then replied to my post saying it was the fault of the media. You’ve just repeated the nonsense as fact - how it is that helping?

Either way it’s not true so if people are "rebelling"against it then they are stupid and should be called stupid. Stupid cunts is what they should be called.

I saw this quote when it was posted on Twitter.

It’s from one of Johnson’s novels, isn’t it?

I’d say this was a slippery slope, but some cunt will try to make out I’m being racist.

You will only be racist if you disagree with “my” point of View

Yes it is. I’m sure it’s only fiction though. In his novel about a cycling, blonde tory mp ruthlessly pursuing power with his abhorrent colonialist views.

Why would they come back, they feel as if they can now live as they want to, not having to curb back on what they say? The only way to do it, is like with online trolls, have harsher penalties for committing these offences.

The fact that it annoys the London Liberal I assume will encourage them, but meh, that’s today’s Britain. Left has become right.

Well, novels tend to be fiction.

This is the sort of tactic that Tories love. They get to point out how ridiculous it is.

Is it ok to use racist tropes for humour in fiction? Is it ok for our prime minister? What next? Will he black up and poke fun at sambos and nig nogs coz it’s all just a laugh?

Let’s say it isn’t.

What happens next? Are you going to start reviewing everything with objectionable content bereft of any context?

As I said, fucking slippery slope, advanced by wankers that can’t or won’t make an argument on policy, merely putting the whole freedom of expression lark at risk.

I wouldnt think of using the word coon in telling a story and certainly wouldnt put it down in writing to be published. Particularly if the "character’ using the term had so many parallels to my own character. The fact that this cunt thinks that is fine speaks volumes. He doesn’t give a fuck if he comes across as racist because he is. Giving him a free speech pass is not helping.

Neither is this ridiculous grasping.

All a Tory leaning voter is going to say is that it’s fiction.

And in this case, it literally is.

Find better ways to convince the public because the present methods are shit.

Sorry you don’t get out of this that easily… this is about what the public find acceptable… if a fictional character is clearly a racist cunt plain to see and the work clearly illustrates all that is wrong with that, then that would be a fair defence, but in this case it more likely that this central character is clearly comfortable using these terms - does the work call him out on this as being a utter cunt of does it make him acceptable?

There IS a difference because it reflects what society finds acceptable behaviour. If as society we find it acceptable or use the last bastion deference of the ignorant ‘PC gone mad’ then it sadly suggests our society is a little bit more racist than you like to give it credit for…

Has anyone actually read this book? Or is this all this twitteresque frothing based upon one sentence.

As you say Johnson doesn’t give a fuck about coming across as racist because he is. And a particularly nasty one at that, plenty of evidence from his own mouth (or pen) to illustrate that. ‘Picanninies with watermelon smilles’,’ Muslims looking like bank robbers’, the particularly vile example of describing a group of children who once sang for him at a ceremony in Uganda as "AIDS ridden choristers’. Of course he is a racist, sad to see some on here trying to play it down almost to the point of excusing it. “Got no love for Boris, but------”. Yeah right!

You know fuck all about the public, if your statements here are anything to go by.

Obviously you can’t read… There is nothing in my post that presumes anything about the public, it merely suggests that IF the public find such language acceptable without context, it is concerning, and why some of the fellow posters on here have issues with this piece of ‘fiction’…
