Best theme tune ever written

Scary version of Diffren’t Strokes

Movie composer, there’s only really Bernard Herrmann. He was quite distainful of motion pictures, he had a classical background. He was peerless in matching image to sound and emotion, no one has come close.

Reminded me of a couple of programmes that are my earliest memories …

and including what must have been a drug induced episode of Bill & Ben

Classic Stuff

He died before Taxi Driver was released and according to what I read, hated the film. He’d composed from the script.

I moved away from the children’s nostalgia thing

Wong Kar Wai,

“Yumeji’s Theme (Theme from “In the Mood for Love”)” by Shigeru Umebayashi

Music to fall asleep to

The best 2, bar none. Completely fit their shows

No not the lousy movie or remake

You beat me to it with the Sweeney there. Nice Ford Granada/Jag S-Type car chase too. It’s probably also the only example of a show starring Denis Waterman where he didn’t insist on singing the fucking theme tune. Badly.

Can’t say that I can remember an ending. May have to look it up too.

Totally immersible…a thing of wonder and beauty…

Fotunately I’m not old enough to remember this originally being broadcast. It was repeated throughout the 70s though - loved it.
