Another wrong decision from the umpire, root caught behind overturned. The ball actually hit the off stump, quite hard too, the stump wobbled but the bail didn’t move. Weird.
I think he may have reacted to the unanimous Australian appeal, or swayed by it human nature I suppose, it would be an easy mistake to make, but an awful decision to get out to.
Happening quite a lot recently, saw it 5 or 6 times during the IPL…

This is the way to play test cricket, it doesn’t have to be fast, its a batting wicket and we’re doing exactly the right things.

Root gone, caught and bowled, sharp instinctive reaction catch from siddle. Does the hard work, gets to his 50,doesn’t go on. Getting to be a bit of a habit.
Studiously refused to check the score in the morning session while bumbling around (normally ESPN shows a wicket whenever I refresh.
Pleasantly shocked to then find us 77-1 at lunch when fired up the stream.
Caught most of the afternoon, graft, wear down the 4 bowlers - set it up for our middle order to attack - proper Test cricket, how unexpected.
Clients back bang on start of 3rd session so will probably let it drift by with my fingers crossed while they visit Auschwitz.

Umpires finally cracked under the pressure of the aussies whining about the ball and given them a new one. Old ball soft and doing nothing, the new one harder and swinging nicely. Doesn’t seem right to me, yesterday we had to put up with a soft pudding of a ball.
