The PG rating says a film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older while 12A recommends children under 12 shouldn’t watch without being accompanied by an adult.
Of the 93 complaints the board received last year, 27 were about 1980 space opera film Flash Gordon.
The movie’s 40th anniversary re-release was reclassified up to 12A partly due to the inclusion of “discriminatory stereotypes”.
The BBFC did not say what the stereotypes were. However Flash Gordon’s main villain, Ming the Merciless, was of East Asian appearance but played by Swedish-French actor Max von Sydow.

In a week’s time. Laurel Hubbard is going to compete in the Women’s 87kg Weightlifting. Some are hailing this as a progressive move forward, but I think this is going to perceived very differently should Hubbard win it.
I don’t think it should be allowed. I have no problem with classing her as a woman, but I don’t think she can, fairly, be allowed to compete against other women.
She went through puberty as a male which gives her an advantage over those that went through puberty as a female. If she wants to be a weightlifter fine, however she should not be competing against those who did not go through puberty as a male

There is a simple answer. New classification of athletes but that continues “pigeon holing” so there is no answer.
It is called “WankedIn” around these here parts. Not sure why, there is no alliteration or fun play on words. I suspect it has more to do with the type of people who love it.
And most people (me included, sorry) are completely suckered into using it, posting stuff on it, sharing work shit, inviting contacts and, of course, making bloody sure your profile is up to date.
This is despite the fact that if you not looking for a job, its a waste of time, and even if you are, it’s of questionable use - unless you are an employer or a recruitment firm.
