I think the problem is that he voted to Brexit his User name and now he is faced with an uncertain future whilst the rest of the Papsweb decide upon what it might look like.
I’m alright with this actually - I’m glad that I’ve finally got you to come out with it.
It is indeed in my own interest to vote for Brexit.
I am after all being asked to have voted sacrificially.
The only ones who have a right to complain are (as always) the ones earning a shred below the ones who do express any sort of disappointment at their situation.
Any objection to any of this is xenophobic.
Lol.
Remember back when the thread started they actually persisted with the idea that I’d be better off in the EU? Glad that that nonsense has finally been abandoned.
Sorry, I don’t own a house or have teenage children who want to go to university in Bavaria.
Change the title of this thread to “Beef Thread mk2” Simples

Tell me about it, I have less disposable income than Mr T despite earning more than him!!
Mostly my choice though and I ain’t whinging…
Yep - still quite angry Bearsy with this whole Brexit malarky - because the result was skewed by ignorance (not all brexit voters are dumb I know this, and not all voted brext because they were xenophobes … I know this to… but enough were and did to make the difference ihmo) so I cant understand why anyone is not angry… given how such a huge decion was in effect left to the the sun readers to swing it - when on the dayof the referendum the sun does a 6 page editorial old news of problems in Calais… that is not democracy.
Yes I am angry Bearsey.
Yes I question those who make statements about benefits to themselves without explaining how - or see it as a’gamble’ without assessing the consequences, or dismissing them as a byproduct of their decsion so not their repsonsibilty
Yes I am angry.
Because, this was not something we can chnage our minds on if it does not work out. Beacause its seems to have given the extremists on the right a louder voice and more courage to spout their shit as if they believe they now have a mandate to do so
And I am fucked off with being told I must accept democracy… This is the biggest load of shit, because the principles of democracy dont hold true in this case, because if it does ont work out, I cant vote for the alternative in future… so yeah,I am angry and have no problem in sharing how angry I am.
PS. This has nothing to do with personal circumstances by the way, my pension was fucked long before Brexit, and I live in Scotland so my house might be fucking huge but is worth fuck all…I did go to Tuscany for a holiday one so that must mean I am a big fuck off rich snivelling laywer…
You know what? I really didn’t mean it to turn out like this. I orignally just tried to politely articulate (not even to perusade others), but simply say why I personally decided to vote for Brexit and why it was in my interest to do so.
Since then I’ve been sneered at for earning as little as I do, whilst at the same time being told that I’m actually incredibly lucky.
I’ve been told that it was in my interest to vote for Brexit, but that even if it wasn’t, the onus was on me to vote against my own interests. For the betterment of those better off.
I’ve been told that my aspirations to earn…maybe 35k or so? were entitled and spoilt by people who earn 4-6 times that much, but that also, said aspirations are pathetic and that I should aspire to far more.
God knows what I’m supposed to do. Probably apply again for one of those jobs where the top 42 out of 5000 get a crack of the whip. That’s what I keep doing at least.
I think Gays posts are the right level of angry. He’s right…people should be angry. I don’t believe he’s been overly insulting, but if someone deserves an insult, why not use it?
To be honest, I don’t see any difference between Gays style of posting and Paps. Both make their points forcefully, both stick to their guns, both can be belittling, so any criticism of Gay by Pap is a tad unjustified.

I wasn’t really referring to you. If anything, your truculent style has meant there have been actually been two coherent sides to the debate.
As a left-winger myself, the most useful thing about this entire episode is having been up against “my own side”.
I’ve learned what fucking patronising wankers we can be, how badly clued up people are on issues they claim they care about, and that recriminations can last forever.

I did a quick Google on the “principles of democracy” and this was the first hit, open the linked PDF and you these basic tenants
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION
EQUALITY
POLITICAL TOLERANCE
ACCOUNTABILITY
TRANSPARENCY
REGULAR FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS
ECONOMIC FREEDOM
CONTROL OF THE ABUSE OF POWER
BILL OF RIGHTS
ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF ELECTIONS
HUMAN RIGHTS
MULTI PARTY SYSTEM
RULE OF LAW
So, apart from the obvious which don’t apply, where would you say that the Refrendum wasn’t democratic? Unless you want a Brexit vote evey 5 years!!!
Says the bloke who called me a cunt, not five hours ago
Yes, yes, I know it was supposed to be comedy. After you explained the joke.

Oh do fuck off.
Suck it up grandad. You’ve got a house, a family, holidays and a pension.
I’ve got sweet fuck all at the moment. There was a chance that Brexit might at least get me something of a foot on the ladder or at least make it a shade easier. Failing that, who gives a toss? I’ve got nothing to lose.
Yeah I get you - cheers.

Mind your house price doesn’t drop below a million.
What I’m saying, without wishing to cause offence, is that your style of posting is argumentative, aggressive and can be alienating (we could go down the route of counting up how many posters have left the forum and if they seemed to fall out with anyone in particular prior to that departure). Yet this is what you accuse of Gay of doing. It’s like you don’t see in yourself what you accuse others of. And then you post this:
I’ve learned what fucking patronising wankers we can be, how badly clued up people are on issues they claim they care about,
I suspect you’re applying that to other left wingers and not yourself.

@It-was-there-all-the-time-according-to-you…-but-subtly-is-obviously-not-enough-for-some-people—YOU-have-not-gotten-anything-out-of-me…-just-needed-to-be-obvious-as-you-seemed-to-be-struggling-with-it-by-suggesting-I-was-calling-you-a-racist…
It is indeed in my own interest to vote for Brexit.
and you have yet to offer a viable reason (any) why it is so, beyond the less competition (from foreign workers) please the opportunity to do has been presented to you on many occasions now…
I am after all being asked to have voted sacrificially.
The only ones who have a right to complain are (as always) the ones earning a shred below the ones who do express any sort of disappointment at their situation.
er? everyone has a right to complain if they they feel their situation is difficult - but that does not mean it should not be placed into perspective against others who are worse off. That perspective can provide balance and afford insight that may influence or change ones POV…
Any objection to any of this is xenophobic.
LOL indeed - you are not being accused of xenophobia because of complaining about your situation, but because you have suggested in your posts that it would be made better (potenially) if there were less foreign workers making increasing the competition… which is a fair statement, whilst you offre no alternative as to how your situation would be improved by Brexit…
Lol.
Remember back when the thread started they actually persisted with the idea that I’d be better off in the EU? Glad that that nonsense has finally been abandoned.
You might be, difficult to tell subject to what opportunities you pursue - if you get a job with PWC, living and working in the EU would be highly likely right now as part of any development opportunities… may change in future of course
Sorry, I don’t own a house or have teenage children who want to go to university in Bavaria.
All anyone has said is that at 26 you should be more open to a wealth of opportunities… because its at that age and without all the trappings that you would be able to take advantage of them…so your response to this seems rather immature…
Gay has laid his cards on the table and in solidarity with him, I shall do the same.
i think you’re an idiot.
"All anyone has said is that at 26 you should be more open to a wealth of opportunities… because its at that age and without all the trappings that you would be able to take advantage of them…so your response to this seems rather immature…"
Lord have mercy WHAT OPPORTUNITIES!? Opportunities are things that improve your lot. What actual opportunities are there for someone in my position?
“Oh…well…erm…you can go and work in another country…or…something I guess.”
Psh, I’ll roll the dice on Brexit thanks. Seems like it’s my best shot.
Thank you all.
Coming from you lot, I don’t even take offence.
