Anyone fancy a kick-about

Last week you lost the dressing room, now you seem to have mislaid the whole bloody stadium.

When I used a brolly to keep the rain off my balding pate instead of coaching you muppets, it was, how you say, a meestake.

Shekshee foootball.

OK, here’s the news.

We have a fixture on Wednesday, but The RaleighBoy is already planning on letting us down again.

Apparently he’s off to commit and armed-robbery and is using a prior visit to see Derren Brown as his alibi.

Can you PM me Lee, James and Paul’s numbers TRB? Just in case they can come when you’re off watching cheap conjuring tricks?

Here’s where we stand at the moment…

Ok funsters, 3 positives this week. Shame on you.

Suewhistle sends her apologies and isn’t sure when she’ll be back because she has (serious) blood pressure issues.

Get well soon Sue. I’m sure our thoughts are with her.

We’ll move to the adhoc idea again I think. Perhaps when I’m back (had a bit of a setback) I’ll pick a date and see if we can get 10.

I’ll be good to go for the week after next (probably won’t be able to walk next week).

It’s a pity we can’t regularly get the numbers, sorry to hear about Sue, and sorry to hear the Bletch has tweaked his niggle - good luck to the Goat, I’ll be out there somewhere, unless I think I’m a chicken and then I’ll be eating seed and doing odd head movements.

Damn. That’s a shame. :slight_frown:

I may have to be unfaithful…

Hmmm…

There is momentum at The Other Place for a re-make of the Legendary TSW Forum Matches at the end of next season.

I mention it because it would hack the papster off that he wouldn’t get an invite :lou_sunglasses:

Coincidentally, I didn’t pay for any of the Magners I consumed in the Technical Area at that event either. (Believe it or not the “legendary” St Lee, St David & Whacko all paid for it - nearest they ever got to a “deal” at SMS I guess)

But I did pay for my Curry at Frannie’s gaff later on

Stopped in the way out?

Just a thought - on weeks where we struggle for a full compliment of players, would anyone be up for an even more freeform kickabout on The Common instead? Weather seems to be improving and obviously the nights are drawing out more.

Yeah, just getting out and doing something is the key.

Exactly. Bought some new football socks a couple of weeks ago but they’re still in the packaging! Itching to just kick a ball about.

I’ll meat you in the loos by the cowherds.

Is that a euphemism?

I’m a little way from a comeback, but that appeals.

I’ve got a green area outside my house too which has a couple of 5-a-side sized goals. We could use that.

It’s meant for kids to use, but they’re all too busy skinning-up and watching porn at the park at the end of the road.

From Fleming Park, it’s the game of the weak.

That’s right, Old Blokes…the Old Blokes’ Football is BACK!

Well, the weekly event of me trying to summon 10 of you old bastards to get a team is back.

For new visitors, we run a very friendly 5-a-side match where nobody gets hurt (except when my rotator cuff gets busted, or when goat turns a rear ankle). We are a group of middle-aged blokes (mid-30s to mid-50s, one 20 something and The RaleighBoy) of differing skills that like to meet for a beer and play football first to give us a thirst.

My shoulder injury (that I don’t like to talk about) is mended enough for me to risk it. So here’s the plan(s).

Plan a) I will aim for Tuesday 5th July and see how many hands we get in the air. If we are quorate, I would then book a pitch and go from there.

Plan b) is that we all meet up on the green outside my house (Eastleigh) one Saturday/Sunday. Have a kick-about and then back to mine for a few beers and burgers. Mrs Bletch is fine with this plan…I imagine.

We can always do plan b as well as plan a, but let’s try a proper game first.

So Tuesday, July 5th (probably 8pm or 9pm depending on what’s available). Who is up for it?

Any new players, feel free to shout.

Looking forward to the limp.

I might be back working in sunny Southampton for a bit by then, be good to put some faces to names, but running makes me feel :lou_sad:, sitting in goal making heroic saves makes me feel :lou_sunglasses:
