I wasn’t suggesting free access FFS. You’ve got a nice little earner there.
First of all have you clipped the little fucker’s wings yet. You don’t want it roosting in a neighbour’s garden do you.

Yes, he’ll certainly need to clip that dodo’s wings. He wouldn’t want it flying off now would he, they were notorious for doing that. :+1::+1::+1::grin:

They have to do that with Emus too.
You don’t think it’s an Emu do you? I think they make their nest high in the trees.

Frankly, after seeing Rod Hull and emu on the television, I am surprised that so many people take the official explanation of his death, fell off a roof while trying to fix his satellite dish, at face value.

Emu pushed him, I reckon. Violent little bugger.

History goes in cycles. When the population of Buffalo reaches what they think is sustainable the NRA will call for an open season from 1st Jan to 30th November.

There was a report on the news yesterday about the resurgence of the wild deer population in the New Forest, unfortunately, due to their feeding habits, this is having a side effect of making life difficult for the smaller species that ground forage.

Solution is to have a controlled cull of the wild deer population :man_shrugging:t2::man_facepalming:t2:

The deer are a problem and culling is the only credible solution

We have a herds that live in the enclosure at the bottom of our road - they have been growing in numbers for years and it is not unusual to se 20+ of them

Now if they stayed in the enclosure or on the forest that wouldn’t be an issue (except for the poor little blighters highlighted above), but they don’t. They break through the fencing to get at the verges by the road and some of the choice planting in peoples houses

They also have a tendency to run out in front of cars in great numbers at night

Deer are fine - lots of deer, not so much

Shouldn’t plant stuff that deer like to eat :rofl:

When we had just moved in the Ayatollah went all Percy Thrower and spent a small fortune at the garden centre

I spent the afternoon sticking all this in

That night the deer got around the back and demolished the lot - ÂŁ200 worth

I don’t eat that well

They are cunning bastards - they were going into the garden two doors down, up the stream at the bottom and into our garden

They like all of it

They’ve always culled deer in the forest long before even I was a kid.

And some did it on an individual basis, one at a time as necessary…

Not in the new forest, but years ago a foreman of my acquaintance over the other side of the water told me that if the deer got onto your property, you were legally allowed to shoot them.
Do you have a problem then, asked I. Not really, said Dennis, but when we need to I lay a corn trail from the fence over to our main paddock.

They still do along with the odd pig or three

I couldn’t possibly confirm or deny….

You’d really want to be certain that whatever is holding that back is fucking strong.

Maybe that’s Pap’s smaller brother in the blue hat?

Good point - in which case the beast is a mere Charolais calf.
