đŸ€Ș 2019 General Election Discussion :gov:

Have they just realised that she’s going to lose her seat?
Wonder what the odds are?

Just watching the QT Leaders’ Special now.

Corbyn came over well. I think the BBC fucked up because there were loads of obvious supporters in there. The neutral approach to Brexit referendum is transformational to Labour’s approach. It’s still not ideal and it’s nuanced but it says that Corbyn would be happy to remain. And that is something I didn’t think I’d hear.

Watching Sturgeon now. I’ve always rated her as a politician and agreed with lots of the SNP priorities. She comes across as the most states-person-like leader on that stage tonight.

Swinson defending Universal Credit Ouch. Again, she has taken a nuanced approach to defending benefits - “Nothing wrong with simplifying benefits (Universal Credit) it’s the amount of money in the pot” but any political communication strategist would surely tell her (them) to put as much yellow water between them and UC.

The woman who asked JS a question that started “I’m a passionate remainer, but
” speaks for me. The whole “revoke” position has damaged them badly. I’m uncomfortable with ignoring the result of the referendum. It seems others are too.

Swinson was a disaster. Watching her felt like a macabre version of a Ricky Gervais office scene.
If they put her in front of the camera again they could end up with less seats not more.
An intellectual and emotional husk that will turn people off wherever she goes. I’m going to put money on her losing her seat.

Remember the Saffa (he of the oddly clenched wank fist) that was terrified about a potential Corbyn government’s impact on his daughters?

He’s a Tory activist.

That’s OK, because I’m sure half of the Labour supporters in that audience were also activists.

But it’s good to know that his oddly extreme views might not be representative of the electorate at large.

Apparently been in the QT audience 4 times.

Yep, or more

So my partner’s parents vote Tory. His mum will not be voting for them this time round due to Johnson. Not got the details from his dad. They’re in a v large majority Tory constituency so won’t sadly make a difference.

Reading one of those links it appears it could be 7. Even though BBC rules state that you can’t re-apply for 10 years apparently. I would like to see one of the BBC top brass being quizzed as to how that works.

If they feel that way, how do you know that others won’t too?

I am hopeful that more people are feeling like that. She won’t actually vote for anyone else as they are so far behind here - 26000 majority. But in more marginal seat we would imagine she would vote for another party but she won’t be persuaded to Labour.

There are some articles suggesting the booker of the audience is a bit right wing. You do have to put your voting allegiance when you apply. So great if it’s to be equal. Not so great if you then choose a biased audience.

They just need to fuck off the audiences
