šŸ•¹ šŸŽ® Xbox or PlayStation?

I’ve always said that developers should get underpowered machines to develop on, not top of the range stuff… This story of bears it out…

Looks like it will be the PS5

Just happen to look on amazon just as it flicked from unavailable to buy now

Fuck you bots

So Microsoft’s purchase of Bethesda has just landed in Gamepass form on PC and XBox.

Enjoy the good times, folks. Most games firms acquisitions lead to most of the talent fucking off because they can’t handle the corporate life.

Someone was commentating the other day that this would make the XBox the dominant console on the market because Bethesda games would be XBox exclusives.

Seems as the only decent game I can remember Bethesda (and not one of their sattelites) doing well was Fallout 76 I can’t quite see this.

So far my only criticism about the PS5 is the woeful internal storage - reckon you have space for two flagship titles and that’s your lot

The controllers on the PS5 are lovely, bit weightier than the PS4 ones but the haptic feedback on the triggers is amzing, you can really feel it when you’re pulling a bow string for example.

Fuck me - the Ayatollah would have kittens if she busted me buying that

You are right about the controller- it’s stereo for touch

Only joshing with you, this is the one I got for the PS4 which also works with the PS5

I
Have something similar but apparently you lose a lot of the load speed

They are supposed to be activating the expansion slot in the next couple of months

I am still looking to buy a next gen machine, believe it or not. There has been very little stock available, although I haven’t really pursued it as doggedly as I may have done in the past.

I’ll get both eventually because the XBox really is such a good value proposition. I’ve had an XBOX One X for over a year, and the thing that normally happens when I get a new console is the thing just becomes a shop for the first few days.

Don’t think I’ve ever had more legal access to games and it has probably been my cheapest year in gaming.

I am trying to secure an Xbox One X. Another pandemic stock casualty - would usually have been very good value once the new model was in healthy supply.

Now, new One Xs - when you can find them - are going for the same as, or even more than, the Series X. Nuts

There was a story about product confusion potentially leading to this. People bought One X’s because they thought they were the new model.

Unforced error or dastardly way to shift old stock?

Consumers without understanding, politely

:grinning:

It’s the same type of parents that called every console a Nintendo back in the 1980s, irrespective of manufacturer.

Purchased a hardly used Xbox One X 1TB, via ebay. Paid about 35% of the price some outfits want for a very rare new one. Sorted :+1:

Right, my top tip is to swerve the temptation of filling that bastard up with all the goodies on GamePass.

Stick to one or two games. Play them. Complete them. Otherwise you’ll get caught in the fuck-hopping loop.

10 PRINT "This is a nice game?"
20 PRINT "Fuck, I'm dead!"
30 PRINT "Oh well, I've 60 other things I could play"
40 PRINT "I'll play another game"
50 GOTO 10

So the April update for PS5 is out. Despite not owning one, I was interested to see where the machine was at some months after launch.

The biggest change is the ability to shift your content onto an external HD for archival purposes. Sorry, but if that’s a priority then Sony have fucked up with the first model.

You launch a console. You know it’s targeting 4k, and yet you’ve given it 1TB of disk space, which the last generation of consoles had for 1080p!

/waits for inevitable second model

Ummm, that’s the first thing I did when I got my PS5, don’t think that’s actually a new thing…

The ssd in the console is woeful -CoD pretty much gobbles the lot

The consoles are shipped with an expansion slot but that has yet to be activated

Once it is then problem solved

Seems rather retrograde to me. The whole point of a console is having it all in one.

XBox Series X is just as woeful. Only 1TB there too.

We’re on Clive Sinclair economics.
