That was something though. Good catch to end it.

Weird old series this has been, across all the formats. Certainly never stopped being entertaining.

Small news story, canā€™t say it is surprising after the Test Series

Meanwhile Mark Ramprakash has lost his job as the England batting coach and is expected to be replaced by Graham Thorpe ahead of this summerā€™s Ashes series against Australia.

Ramprakash has paid the price for the Test teamā€™s poor batting of late. The former England batsman revealed he had been relieved of his job on Twitter, saying: ā€œIā€™ve just been informed that I will not be involved in the Ashes series. Itā€™s been a huge privilege to support the team over the last five years. Iā€™d like to wish all the staff & players the very best of luck for the future.ā€

England officially confirmed the news shortly afterwards. Thorpe, who in his current role as lead batting coach is responsible for Englandā€™s white-ball teams, is the favourite to replace Ramprakash.

Hopefully this will have the twin results of improving Englandā€™s test batting, and stopping Thorpe doing punditry on Sky, where heā€™s the cricket equivalent of Martin Keown.

This might all be over in time for an early night.

Blimey, itā€™ll be over in a couple of minutes at this rate. Boundaries flying like monkeyā€™s semen.
