Most of our successful signings have usually been preceded by me saying “Who the fuck is that”…
…then again so have most of the gash ones.

His kicking is shit too.
Maybe but those thighs show promise…
What concerns me most about these stats is that as a club we take pride in our army of performance analysts, yet despite this we still threw Fraser the gloves every week.
At the very least I’d hope he was given something to work on in training, but why we didn’t just brutally say “sorry big F your stats are amongst the worst in the history of the Prem, spend time on the bench”, I don’t know.
McCarthy’s injury?
As I’ve said before, he’s usually great when the ball is within his enormous span, but outside of that he’s a hit or a miss.
The thing I find strange about the whole Forster thing is that he seems to have lost (or at least mislaid) some of the attributes that he had previously. Looking back about eighteen months, I can remember the effect that his return had on the team - six conscutive clean sheets (I think) being a manifestation of this. Having had Stekelenberg in goal for the first half of that season, I remember noticing how I could hear Forster directing his defence, and that his presence in goal appeared to increase their confidence. I don’t remember his kicking being the total mess that it became last season either.
Has that all just gone? It seems unlikely somehow. Has he been carrying an injury, as some have suggested? Given our lock of credible alternatives, it’s entirely plausible that he was, and was kept patched up for that very reason. Is it a confidence thing? Quite possibly, as his is the position where confidence, or lack thereof, can have the greatest impact. But if it is mostly down to confidence, then how does he get that back? Or is it a combination of the two?
One way or another, I thought he looked very good indeed when he returned from injury in early 2016. Not the greatest, but then we’re not about to sign De Gea any time soon. And, if he looked that good then, could he not do so again? I genuinely don’t know.
I remember this day well, you were a very gentle lover.
