This is why UKIP is soaring and on the working left people are beginning to wake up and see this experiment has failed, go to Europe and see the rise of Nationlist parties there (they are extreme right and left there not knitting classes and sponge cakes like here)

We have lived in a country that is built on multiculturalism, from Romans, Picts, Celts, Saxons (Germans), Vikings, Angles, Normans historically and immigration from various former commonwealth coutries over the last 70 years. and thorughout that time, the only issues arrise when the econony is shit and we need someone to blame.
Its this diversity that makes Britain Great imho. Its the arseholes that look to spread their racist bigotry though soft channels, such as UKIP, or Britain First that make it Shit.

I agree with the above but you canât let your liberalism blind you to the fact there are also dunes and Barrys in with the immigrants as well, especially when they have a religious belief to use to justify any action they take. The stickers around some areas of London (seen them myself) declaring areas as under Muslim law or the pics of groups pushing their hardline views donât help and adds fuel to the fire of our own home grown idiots.

I dont disagree Tokes, but this radiculaization has not been created by living together - which we have done and most continue to do so over many years. Its been creted by those with political agendas. And young folk are particularly vunerable to the ârebelâ view - a fertile recruiting ground often relying on things as simple as teenage angst.
We must not confuse liberalism with naiviety - the problems are real for all to see. But it is wrong to suggest that the only solution is some sort of separation by culture. All that will breed is more fear and ignornance or even worse as we have see throughout history. Why Arabs and Israelis are separet dby a bloody great wall and what has than achieved for peace and harmony in the region? Maybe Bazza should explain?

Weâve had multiculturalism for millennia. Babylon was famous for being the New York of the ancient world, comprised of people of different beliefs and faiths. The history of this island is one of continual migration, from the people who walked across Doggerland to the people that arrive on an easyJet from Gdansk today.
Historically, we also sought this shit out. We had a pretty big Empire for a couple of hundred years.
So letâs not pretend that the UK is an insular country. It hasnât been for a long time, and it has always had to absorb other cultures, and besides, other countries with much less democratic structures than us have managed to incorporate different cultures.
My view is that multiculturalism isnât actually a big problem, but is stirred up by elites to keep people casting envious sideways glances instead of looking up.
