I heard this song in my formative years.
I think it explains my whole attitude to life.
Been getting plenty of playtime at our house. Even Mrs G likes it and she has (obviously) terrible taste.
How do you find the Rega? Do you use a preamp of straight into the the amp?
Need to get a reasonable turntable, but donât want to shell out stupid money so these seem good value?
I love it! I have it wired into my SONOS via a Angle Audio pre-amp. Standard cartridge. Leather slipmat. Upgraded drive belt.
I looked for the pre-amp to send you a link because it is a cracking bit of kit for a decent price but canât find it anywhere online. Itâs this one:
Talking of cheering everyone up⊠Iâve always loved the Eels and in particular Electro shock blues but couldnât listen to it for years after my mum passed away from cancer. I remember going back home to see her and I was reading Mark Oliver Everettâs autobiography. I think I got half way through before she got really ill and I couldnât finish the book. I couldnât listen to electro shock blues for years after and have only done so once or twice since.
Yeah I loved âBeautiful Freakâ and played it to death. I was so looking forward to the âdifficult second albumâ but âElectro Shock Bluesâ I couldnât handle. My Dad had died suddenly a couple of years before and my Mum was on her way with Dementia. I have everything else, apart from that one album.
Itâs odd because I also love Sufjan Stevens and whilst loving most of âCarrie & Lowellâ I find the whole album too much to listen to in one go.
I might give âElectro Shock Bluesâ another goâŠ25 years on.
Me and a mate used this to accompany a slide show we used to give to Camera Clubs back in the '80sâŠneedless to say the pictures were of the Southwest desert statesâŠ
Been playing this on loop for the last month or so. Amsterdam to the underrated bands thread I feelâŠ
Things I do to earn points to watch football.
Another infernal TV Festival tonight.
So this is my life 24x7 on TV & Radio.
