Martin Stephenson and The Daintees Boat to Bolivia @9pm on # timstwitterlisteningparty

Drumming in this track is incredible, from around 6:20 he’s playing 4 different rhythms at once (I had to look up polymetrics). I used to think I would have been a good drummer, people like this help validate my subsequent life choices.

Not sure that playing 4 different rhythms at once is unusual for a drummer, TBH.

4 different time signatures is mind.

I’ll take your word for it. More validation for me not being a drummer I suppose :lou_sad:

Having now googled time signatures I think this is what I was trying to refer to originally.

Caroline Polachek…used to record as singer and electronica under the name ā€œChairliftā€ but now under her real name. Pure pop/electronica…appeal to the tastes of @Polski_Filip and possibly @Goatboy?? I love the album Pang.

Plone have got a new album out today. Anyone remember Plone? Just the 21 year gap between debut and second album…

Right, this is probably not to everyone’s taste, but if the idea of a hybrid of black metal and Reich/Glass style minimalism appeals… I mean this is just fantastic.

For me these are classic when played extremely loud - not heard for a while

This picture is a particular favourite and Brian looks happy in the vid. Most unusual
Good choices for the present madness.

Gomez ā€œBring it onā€ on #timstwitterlisteningparty

The memories!

Tim Burgess asked 4 questions at the start.

  1. Where are you
  2. Favourite Gomez gig
  3. What you had for dinner
  4. where you first heard Gomez

I can only answer Q1 and 3.
I can’t remember where I first heard them and I know I’ve seen them a few times but I can’t remember my favourite! I’ve just checked my emails to see if there’s any record of tickets. The only one I can find is from 2011. I’m sure I saw them quite recently doing some sort of anniversary thing. I should drink less.

Hey! I’m also at the party.
I could just about answer all 4.
2 - I saw them at Reading Festival in the sun in 2000. I remember it vividly as it was one ace to see them live but secondly I thought I may be hit with a rock as a bunch if idiots started to hurl stones around and a large circle appeared with me on the periphery! :grimacing:
4. Well would have been in Southampton somewhere, couldn’t pin point it. There was a lot of alcohol around that time.

Such a good album.

That really is a great album. I’ve enjoyed the parties I’ve attended just because it’s nice to be reminded of albums you’ve not heard in a while. There is something pleasant about knowing others are enjoying trips down memory lane at the same time.
