Been reliving my youth listening to Neds Atomic Dustbin the past week and seeing them tonight at Koko in Camden. Didnāt join in with the bouncing. Loved watching the crowd and watching people continually crowd surf.
Something in those Jason Isbell songs put me in mind of this chap:
Not sure why really, as thereās precious little in common really. Love this song though.
Again 'slowlane, I really liked that, but still the God references.
Is it common across all his work?
On another note, there was something reminiscent of Neil Young or Tom Petty in that song.

Iām not religious eitherā¦I automatically filter them outā¦not a problem for me. I get Ryan Adams for me, before the other two.
That is quite wonderful, Ted.
There are few questions in music where that the correct answer is not Pixies, as evidenced by thisā¦
(Complete with prescient reference about MLT)
And yes, theyād have been a mere blip in the history of music without that bass and vocals.
Nice vid Bletch, Joey Santiago is an underrated guitarist. Heās the Steven Davies of the 90ās indie rock scene.
I posted this in the other place a while back but itās always worth repeating. Minimalist in music and presentation but all the more devastating for itā¦
Iāve been listening to one of my favourite 90s albums, Relish by Joan Osborne, which includes the following:
Really love that Alvvays album. They are on tour later this year, hoping to get out and see them.
Wish I had gone to see Blur in the mid to late 90ās, but I was a huge Oasis fan and at the time you were one or the other. Or maybe it was a being a young man thing, as it seems so silly now.
I also wish I got to see The Sone Roses back in their day, but got to see them at Heaton Park a few years back.
Then I am extremely lucky and did not realise it at the time, to see Oasis at the Guildhall in Southampton, with their original line up. Metallica and AC/DC in 91 at the Monsters of Rock Donnington and Iron Maiden at the Mayflower Theate around 1989. In 1992 I also got to see Guns N Roses at Wembley Stadium and in 1993 Rage against the machine at Reading Festival.
I was only while talking to a Rocker friend of mine, who could not believe I had seen all these bands at this time, that I realised how lucky I had been.
