Came across this by accident just nowā¦makes me feel old!
Well cheers for that Fats, now we both feel ancient
What happened to those 22 years? , theyāve just flown by ⦠back then I thought Iād have made my fortune by now
I fuckin love LCD Sound System
me too, @steveintheforest , me too.
Been giving the new Slowdive & Day Wave album a few spins today. Big fan of both.
Not heard of Day Wave @krg_ , Iāll have to check them out.
Didnāt know Slowdive were still going ⦠donāt mind them but wouldnt say Iām a fan.
TBH Iāve been a bit underwhelmed by guitar band offerings over the last few years and have radiated towards electronica/ hip hop more⦠thatās where all the creativity is nowadays ⦠to my ears anyway.
It thatās your vibe fair enough. Iād probs not recommend the band in my post.
They werenāt meant as a direct recommendations, more an addendum - what Iām currently listening too.
Neither really relate lcd or that vibe, itās just what Iāve got on at the moment.
If you are into hip-hop, all I can say is Kendrick. Imo, heās the best on the planet right now, by quite some distance.
Soz @krg_ I came across a bit dismissive, didnāt mean to.
I gave the impression that guitars arenāt my thing which definitely isnāt the case ā¦Iām an old indie kid at heart (well an āold indie oldā anyway ) Iāve got broad tastes preferably something new and Iām always on the lookout for fresh sounds to float my boat, whatever genre.
At the moment it tends to be more electro/dance orientated but itās not a set in stone thing. Iām just finding a lot of the new bands Iāve listened to recently, sound so unoriginal/āindie by numbersā ⦠with the odd exception, The XX for instance.
I was looking to see what Tim Smith (formerly of Midlake) is up to currently and saw a post of his from a couple of weeks ago on Facebook where he said heās been in the UK working with this lot on a songā¦
