Watford Vs Southampton - Match Thread 4/3/17

I thought Watford had a player called ‘Fowl’ in their team and he took the throw in. I thought that was really clever of Bletchley, but upon checking their team, no such player, to my disappointment.

Also the very slight chance of free pizza.

Let’s not go nuts, he got utterly violated against Arsenal and has been part of a defence that’s conceded 6 goals in the last two matches. Would obviously be happy to be proven wrong but I’m not convinced just yet.

He’s 23 as well. Hardly a baby.

Not going nuts, he has what 6 first team appearances so far?

Will get violated many times more as he learns but the point I was trying to make is perhaps, like Morgan, you can see why we got him young and that he could develop into a classy footballer. After that hope he makes better career choices than Morgan did.

CB’s like Keepers do mature a bit later in the game. (As Citeh have found out buying a youngster in Stones for silly money)

Did expect Caceres to get a few minutes on Saturday tbh, when we went 2-4 up was the perfect moment. I guess the club want to avoid paying excessive Appearance fees :lou_sunglasses:

I like the BBC interview with Claude just for the bit around 2.45 when the interviewer says “even you must be surprised with Gabbiadini’s 6 goals in 4 games” and Claude says “7”

Made me smile as well.

It’s an ‘interesting’ point that nowadays we can actually manage 2.45 mins of a CP interview !! I could hardly do 30 secs at the start of the season. His english is improving and with that, there’s ‘possibilities’ for him to come out of his shell a bit …he seems quite different to the dour character, we all had him down as.

totally agree, Steve

Still too many “make interesting possibilities” tbf

:lou_wink_2:

Think he’s starting to come good, after what hasn’t been the easiest of situations to manage eg the Fonte fiasco, the number of games we’ve played and the number of injuries

He got us to the EFL cup though ffs.

He is a very tactical man and should do well in the cups, as well as the league. Yes sometimes it is going to go wrong, but that is football. He is beginning to get the team playing his way and now we have a finisher, we are pretty much there. Just need VVD back and Forster fully fit, as well as a serious 2nd choice keeper to keep him on his toes.

Keep this lot together and fit, and no reason we cannot push for top 6/7 and another good cup run next season.

Think diet has a lot to do with that. Certainly in my case.
